UEFA PUNISHES MALAGA, SPORTING, ATHLETICO MADRID AND 20 OTHER CLUBS FOR FINANCIAL FAIRPLAY

What’s with football sanctions of late? European football’s governing body, UEFA is withholding prize money for 23 clubs for failing to comply with fairplay rules.

In a statement released by UEFA’s Club Financial Control Body (CFCB), the clubs which participated in 2012/13 UEFA club competitions, were found to have overdue payments to other teams, their own employees or social/tax authorities.

Investigations are still on and the affected clubs have been mandated request the clubs involved to provide an updated situation by September 30, 2012.
