A host of Nigerian and international footballers will converge today, May 27th in Port Harcourt as soccer legend, Joseph Yobo bows out of competitive football. The centenary game which is scheduled to hold at 4pm will have in attendance sports heavyweights like John Terry, Samuel Eto’o, Didier Drogba, Jay jay Okocha, Kanu Nwankwo and a host of others.

Enyeama, Emenike to feature in Yobo Testimonial match
Ex Super Eagles players, Vincent Enyeama and Emmanuel Emenike will honour their countryman, Joseph Yobo by playing in the forthcoming testimonial match. The duo who hung their boots last year confirmed their participation in the game which is scheduled to hold on May 27 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt. The event coordinator told PUNCH about the development.
“We have a confirmation to that effect and there are many other goodies
lined up for fans because Yobo is so passionate about this project. “Emmanuel is coming. He spoke with me personally and I am so elated with the love shown by my colleagues.” He said.

Ahead of his testimonial game which comes up on May 27 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, ex Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo is giving away hundreds of signed shirts,
boots, balls and tickets to his fans.

“I know a lot of people want to attend the game, and I am grateful to
everyone. This is a very important time for me and I feel that the fans
should share in this too. Because the match is marking my 100 games for Nigeria, I want to give
out 100 items each. So there will be 100 balls, 100 jerseys, 100 balls
and 100 tickets for fans. We want to encourage everyone to be part of this, so we will also run a
competition for the kids who will walk the stars out to the pitch.

Sports heavyweights like Wayne Rooney, Samuel Eto’o, including David Moyes are expected to honour the former Everton player with their presence next week.

I see Yobo as a sports minister in future -Taribo West
Former Super Eagles defender, Taribo West who mentored Joseph Yobo when he joined Super Eagles forsees the latter as a sports minister. “You have crossed the limit. I see Yobo as a sports minister in future or even governor.” He made this statement today during the Yobo Testimonial press conference held at the Eko Hotel and Suites Lagos today. The event had the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike in attendance. Roll Call of sports heavyweights at the event include Kanu Nwankwo, Jay Jay Okocha, Christian Chukwu, Fanny Amun, Amodu Shuaibu, Austin Eguavon, Ifeanyi Udeze , Peter Rufai etc. The testimonial match will take place on May 27 at the Adokiye Amiesiamaka stadium, Port harcourt.
