About a month after her mother’s untimely death on February 11, 2012, Whitney Houston’s only child, Bobbi Kristina granted her first interview on Oprah Winfrey’s ‘Oprah’s Next Chapter’.
The 19 year-old recounted her last moments with her mother especially the night before she passed on
“Sometimes she’d come in my room, she’d lay down with me. On the last day, it was so early. I went to go get her. I said, ‘Mom, will you just come lay down with me?’ She stayed with me all day. I slept in her arms all day. All night long.” She reminisced.

After Whitney’s death, she was scared to stay at their family home but felt relieved after Whitney spoke to her. “First night, I couldn’t stay there. Next morning, I woke up and heard her say, ‘OK. Come home now.’ I felt humbled. I felt OK ever since then I’ve been fine to be in that house.”

She’s however determined to follow her mother’s footsteps. “I got to keep moving. I got to carry on her legacy. I still have a voice. We’re going to do the singing thing. We’re going to do some acting, some dancing. It’s a lot of pressure, but she prepared me for it.”

“I can hear her voice. She’s always with me,” she said. “‘I’ve got ya.’ That’s all I heard.” She added.

TARGET PULLS OFF WHITNEY HOUSTON'S MOCK GREETING CARD

An America-based giant supermarket named Target have been forced to withdraw a mock greeting card that made fun of the late singer’s relationship with ex husband, Bobby Brown.
Though the cards were made prior to the pop singer’s death, the retailers were left with no other option than to pull of the cards after receiving numerous complaints from customers.
The card reads thus: “Next time you think of dating the bad boy, consider Whitney Houston.”
A representative defended, “The card was in our stores prior to Ms. Houston’s death. As soon as this was brought to our attention, we began the process of removing the card from all applicable stores.”

Good decision.

WHITNEY HOUSTON'S DRESS AND EARRINGS FOR AUCTION

Barely a week after iconic singer, Whitney Houston was buried, her black floor-length velvet dress valued at $1,000, vest listed at $400, and the faux-pearl earrings which cost about $600 she wore in ‘The Bodyguard’, have been put up for auction.
The auction which will be available to fans will be online, by phone or in person during the “Hollywood Legends” auction on March 31 and April 1 will also be shown during a free public exhibition beginning March 19 at Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills, Calif, not to far from the Beverly Hilton Hotel where Houston died.
The items according to celebrity auctioneer, Darren Julien became available after her unexpected death and would go to the highest bidder next month.
“It will be included among a long-planned sale of Hollywood memorabilia such as Charlie Chaplin’s cane, Clark Gable’s jacket from “Gone With the Wind” and Charlton Heston’s staff from “The Ten Commandments.” She added.
On why the move is early as she was buried not too long, she said that, “it’s a celebration of her life, If you hide these things in fear that you’re going to offend someone — her life is to be celebrated. These items are historic now that she passed. They become a part of history. They should be in museums. She’s lived a life and had a career that nobody else has ever had. Houston is “someone who’s going to maintain a collectability. ” She affirmed.

Quite emotional! Late iconic pop singer, Whitney Houston’s funeral is taking place in her home town of Newark, New Jersey today.
Though the ceremony is private and only by invitation, fans have dropped colourful flowers and messages outside the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark where Houston sung in the church choir as a child, about 1,500 people have been invited to the ceremony.
She is scheduled to be buried beside her father, John Russell Houston, at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.

CORONER REVEALS LIKELY CAUSE OF WHITNEY'S DEATH

Though a toxic report is expected to be released in few weeks but Los Angeles County Coroner officials however confirmed that since there was no enough water in the late Whitney Houston’s lungs, it would be unsafe to conclude that she died from drowning.
Therefore, she might have died as a result of the combination of prescription drugs mixed with alcohol.
TMZ learnt from that law enforcement agents that pills found in the Beverly Hills hotel room where she died include ibuprofen (painkiller), Xanax (anti-depressant), Midol (for menstrual cramps), amoxicillin (for treating bacterial infections as she was said to have been suffering from a sore throat).
‘She may have died before she submerged herself into the bath tub filled with water’. They said.

POP DIVA, WHITNEY HOUSTON DIES AT 48

Iconic American singer, Whitney Houston has passed away. The pop diva whose battles with drugs, alcohol and ex-husband Bobby Brown marred her star power was found dead in her hotel room.
Though the six-time Grammy winner’s death is not yet known, paramedics and police called at the Beverly Hilton hotel where she was last seen, reports say there were no signs of foul play. She was aged 48.

Houston made her album debut in 1985 with “Whitney Houston,” which sold millions and spawned hit after hit. “Saving All My Love for You” brought her her first Grammy, for best female pop vocal. “How Will I Know,” ”You Give Good Love” and “The Greatest Love of All” also became hit singles.
Another multiplatinum album, “Whitney,” came out in 1987 and included hits like “Where Do Broken Hearts Go” and “I Wanna Dance With Somebody.”
