Players bribe coaches to feature for the Super Eagles -Taye Taiwo

Former Super Eagles defender, Taye Taiwo in a recent interview with Football Africa 365 stated that he will never pay coaches to feature in the national team like some players do.
I figured he made the revelation while speaking about his career and you know there’s no way he won’t make mention of the Super Eagles.

“Unlike others , I didn’t offer gifts to the Nigeria coach to be selected. Unfortunately, it ‘ s still happening. I’ m not going to be like some who owe their selection of gifts to the coach , “

The 30 year-old left – back ‎who parted ways with Turkish club, Bursaspor over unpaid wages is searching for a new club in France.

“The French league is my favourite; it’s my adopted country and my city, Marseille . I would love to return, I spent my best moments , my family , my friends are there . I remain a strong supporter of OM . If Jean – Claude Dassier had been able to manage a football club, I would still be in Marseille. “

Taye Taiwo says Keshi isn't fit to continue as coach.

Super Eagles/Bursasor defender, Taye Taiwo also doesn’t think out-of-contract coach Stephen Keshi has any business continuing as national team coach. The major reason the Turkey-based player cited was Keshi’s failure to qualify the country for the Africa Cup of Nations?

Everybody in Nigeria knows that when Siasia did not qualify everybody from the media, the fans insisted that they have to sack him, so it is normal that when a coach does not qualify for the Nations Cup or the World Cup he is not allowed to stay on, I am sorry to say that; they have to sack him.”

“Nigeria is not just for one person, if a coach does not qualify you for a competition why do you have to keep him?”.

The 29 year-old added that he nurses no hard feelings against the Big boss, “Please don’t get me wrong, I have no problem with Keshi, Amokachi or even the NFF. The players that have been called are also doing fantastically well; everything is in the hands of Allah. If I get the chance to play for Nigeria I will, if not, life goes on.”

“Personally, I am not happy that Nigeria did not qualify for the African Cup of Nations and the problem started right from the day we lost our home game but I believe we can plan again and reposition our football. We have the talents and as a nation in Africa , we should be seen at the top.”‎

IS MIKEL OBI ON STEPHEN KESHI'S LIST?

Stephen Keshi

There are speculations that Nigerian Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi may not include Chelsea’s Mikel Obi in his list of players playing in the 2013 Nations Cup qualifier in Rwanda.

Though Mikel has resumed training after seven weeks out with a muscle problem, the coach insisted that only fit players will be involved in the game.
“It’s very simple only fit players would be invited now. We have three major qualifiers, there is CHAN 2012, AFCON 2013 and the World Cup qualifiers, so we are just building and everyone would get a chance but right now only fit players will be invited”.

“My list will consist of only players who are in action every week.”

With this statement, would Mikel who has been absent in his club for weeks be included in Keshi’s list?
On whether Blackburn Rovers striker, Yakubu Aiyegbeni who has been given a back seat after he missed a sitter against South Korea at the 2010 World Cup would also feature, he said that, “There was no time I said Aiyegbeni was on my list. But if he makes it to the list, that means he deserves to be there,” said the coach.

However, those who top the list of call-ups include Vincent Enyeama, Joseph Yobo, Osaze Odemwingie, Obinna Nsofor, Efe Ambrose, Ike Uche, Taye Taiwo, Joel Obi, Brown Ideye, Ekigho Ehiosun and Austin Ejide.
