Moved by the plight of the Super Falcons who recently embarked on a protest in Abuja over their unpaid bonuses and allowances, Super Eagles/Trabzonspor midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi, has reportedly donated the sum of N1million to the squad.
A source close to the team was quoted thus, “Onazi is a fantastic man and supported the Falcons with the sum of one million Naira, that really helped the ladies. “He also gave one of the injured players N200,000 for her treatment. He is a wonderful guy. I was aware some of the girls called him to complain about their plight and he helped them.”

The Super Falcons of Nigeria have emerged champions of Africa. They clinched their 10th title, edging hosts Cameroon with a late goal by Oparanozie at the 84th minute of the game. They have won the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations for the eighth time.
Meanwhile Nigeria’s Florence Omagbemi is the first person to win the AWCON (African Women’s Championship) trophy both as a player & Coach.
Super Falcons coach, Florence Omagbemi has not been paid for 8 months
8 months after taking the reins as Super Falcons coach, Florence Omagbemi is yet to receive any payment from her employers; the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). The organization confirmed they are going through some financial crisis and are working to resolve the situation.
“It’s been a challenging year for the federation financially but we’re working hard to resolve this before the team depart for Cameroon. Omagbemi has been very calm about it and it has to be sorted out as soon as possible.”
NFF’s Chris Green told BBC Sport. The 41 year-old is reportedly not the only one affected by the situation, some players are also yet to receive wages and camp allowances.
