Neymar named best Brazilian in Europe

Barcelona forward, Neymar Jr has won the Samba Gold trophy for the best Brazilian in Europe for the second consecutive year. He garnered 37.8% of votes ahead of Bayern Munich’s Douglas Costa and Felipe Melo.
30 players were shortlisted for the award. And votes were cast by 11 journalists, a set of special guest Brazilian celebrities and former players and over 100,000 online users.

Brazilian striker, Neymar Jnr has been honoured with the 2014 ‘Samba Gold’ award. The prize is presented to the best-performing Brazilian footballer currently playing in Europe.
The 23 year-old who has been in fine form for his club and country edged out Brazilian players, Joao Miranda and Felipe Melobeen in the poll.
The eventual winner is usually decided via over 150,000 votes worldwide and through the opinions of respected journalists and ex-professionals. PSG defender, Thiago Silva won the prize three consecutive times.
