Sevilla, Real Madrid set new record

It was a record-breaking weekend in Spain.
Sevilla became the first team in La Liga
history to start a game without a single Spanish player in their line-up. The
players who featured in the game were from six different nationalities namely
Argentina, France, Brazil, Japan, Italy and Portugal.
Real Madrid  on the other hand beat Espanyol 2-0 away to equal Barcelona’s La Liga record for most
successful wins under Pep Guardiola. The Los Blancos recorded 16 consecutive victories, surpassing the
15-game winning streak recorded by the squad during Miguel Munoz’s tenure in the 1960/61 season.

La Liga: Real Madrid close to setting a new record

Real Madrid registered their 13th consecutive La Liga win
yesterday after a thrilling 3-0 encounter with Real Sociedad in their
opening league fixture. Euro 2016 star, Gareth Bale netted a double and Marco Asensio scored once to get the Los Blancos off to a perfect La Liga start. 
It’s their second best run in the competition after
their 1961 squad recorded 15 wins in succession. With 3 La Liga wins on the rot,
(16), the Zidane-led men could find their way into history books again and
break the record set 55 years ago.

La Liga giants, Real Madrid have unveiled their new kit for the 2016/2017 season. Produced by Adidas, the white home kit features a traditional polo neck with the badge embroidered on the back. The Away kit  has the inscription of Real Madrid and the club’s badge on it

Real Madrid officially activate buy-back clause for Alvaro Morata

Juventus has confirmed that Alvaro Morata will rejoin Real Madrid for €30m The Spain international who scored in both legs of the 2014/15 Champions League SF for Juventus, as well as the final netted 27 goals in 93 appearances for the Old Lady after leaving Madrid for Turin in 2014.
A statement on Juventus’ official website read: “All associated with Juventus Football Club would like to wish Alvaro the very best of luck wherever his future may take him and thank him for two truly excellent years of service to the team.”
The Arsenal target has scored two goals in the ongoing Euro 2016 tournament.

Petitions to strip Real Madrid of their first 5 CL titles garners 50,000 signatures

 
Online petitions demanding that Real Madrid’s first five European titles be revoked has garnered a total of 50,000 signatures on change.org. The petition which kicked off few days back by a certain Justicia Deportiva – (Sporting Justice) reads thus.
 
“We wish to request, in the name of the values represented by the sport
and by democracy, that Real Madrid’s 5 ‘European Cups’ won between
1955-56 and 1959-60, be immediately revoked in recognition
of the fact that those trophies in no way correspond to the competition recognized today as the UEFA Champions League”.
So what they are saying in essence is that every time a format is changed the title holder should
be stripped off their title?  Very funny!

UCL: Fernando’s own goal hands hands victory to Real Madrid

Real Madrid are through to the Champions League final. Fernando’s 1st half own goal gave Zidane Zinedine’s men a 1-0 aggregate win over Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League semi-final held today at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The final of the Champions League between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid  will hold on Saturday, 28 May 2016 at the San Siro, Milan, Italy.  Real Madrid have kept a clean sheet for the 10th time this Champions League season, equalling the Champions League  record set by Arsenal in 2005/2006 season.

FC Barcelona set a new Spanish record by remaining unbeaten in 35 matches in all competitions, squashing Real Madrid’s run of 34 from 1988-89. Lionel Messi scored a hat trick Thursday as Barcelona beat nine-man Rayo Vallecano, 5-1.

Atletico and Real Madrid banned from registering players

Spanish outfits, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid have been banned by FIFA from registering players for two transfer windows for flouting rules on signing non-Spanish under-18 players. Atletico were fined 900,000 Swiss francs (623,248 pound) while Real picked 360,000 francs. The players featured in games between 2007 and 2014 for Atletico, and 2005 and 2014 for Real Madrid. Both clubs will not be able to participate in the next two transfer windows until July/August 2016 and January 2017.

“The two clubs were found to have violated several provisions concerning the international transfer and first registration of minor players.”
“FIFA works hard to protect the rights of players under the age of 18 — whether male or female, amateur or professional,” 
“This is done through the enforcement of regulations prohibiting the international transfer of minors, or the first registration of minors in a country other than their own, except in specific circumstances.” a FIFA statement read.

Rafael Benitez claims there's a campaign against him and the club.

The ‘campaign’ talk, a familiar phrase in football. To cut the long story short, it is one of Jose Mourinho’ infamous phrases.
Real Madrid coach, Rafa Benitez believes there is a campaign against him, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and the club. Real who had a mind-blowing outing weeks back, walloping Rayo Vallecano 10-2 are two points off the top of La Liga.
Speaking at a news conference today ahead of Real’ clash with Real Sociedad, the ex Liverpool manager said
 “There is a campaign against (president) Florentino (Perez), Real Madrid and me.
“Everything is criticised that can be and where not it is manipulated which anyone can see. This is particularly clear if you look at the situation from the outside.”
“Everything is being magnified and I have a lot of experience coaching so I know to be distracted as little as possible.

“I have 24 players in the squad but when I leave out one player then it is made out that it is something personal and a load of speculation is built up. The team is a lot better than people think. My relationship with the players is infinitely better than what you read in the press. There is a communications department that keeps me informed. The team is doing some things well and others not so much.”
