Messi flattered by Obama's comment.

President Barack Obama was in Argentina this week and he revealed his disappointment at not being able to arrange a meeting between Barcelona talisman, Lionel Messi and his daughters, Malia and Sasha due who were keen on meeting him.

“I also wanted to bring my daughters here so they could see the beauty and the vibrancy of [Buenos Aires]. They’ve already met one famous [Argentinian]—His Holiness Pope Francis. Now they want to meet [Lionel] Messi, but I could not arrange that.” The President had said.

But the Argentine forward’s schedule was tight as he was preparing for the FIFA World Cup qualifier between Argentina and Chile. The world best footballer however gave his reaction to the president’s comments after the game.

Obviously, I was surprised that he said that, but on the contrary, for me it would be completely the opposite. For me it would be a source of great pride to be able to meet him and his daughters, but obviously I know it would be complicated. I don’t know whether it is possible. Maybe he made the comment because he was in Argentina, but I can say I was as surprised as everyone else.

Gay-marriage: "I will ask Obama's hand in marriage." Robert Mugabe

President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe has condemned and mocked America’s decision to legalise gay marriage across all 50 states. The African leader in a weekly interview in a radio station added that he plans to travel to the White House to propose to the US President, Barack Obama.
The anti-gay marriage crusader said, ‘I’ve just concluded – since President Obama endorses the same-sex marriage, advocates homosexual people and enjoys an attractive countenance – thus if it becomes necessary, I shall travel to Washington, DC, get down on my knee and ask his hand.’

He continued, ‘I can’t understand how this people dare to defy Christ’s explicit orders as our Lord prohibited mankind from sodomy’, going on to accuse the U.S. government of being run by ‘perverted Satan-worshipers who insult the great American nation.’

#NigeriaDecides: Read the full text of President Barack Obama's message to Nigerians

Hello.
Today, I want to speak directly to you—the people of Nigeria.
Nigeria is a great nation and you can be proud of the progress you’ve made. Together, you won your independence, emerged from military rule, and strengthened democratic institutions. You’ve strived to overcome division and to turn Nigeria’s diversity into a source of strength. You’ve worked hard to improve the lives of your families and to build the largest economy in Africa.

Now you have a historic opportunity to help write the next chapter of Nigeria’s progress—by voting in the upcoming elections. For elections to be credible, they must be free, fair and peaceful. All Nigerians must be able to cast their votes without intimidation or fear.

So I call on all leaders and candidates to make it clear to their supporters that violence has no place in democratic elections—and that they will not incite, support or engage in any kind of violence—before, during, or after the votes are counted.
I call on all Nigerians to peacefully express your views and to reject the voices of those who call for violence. And when elections are free and fair, it is the responsibility of all citizens to help keep the peace, no matter who wins.

Successful elections and democratic progress will help Nigeria meet the urgent challenges you face today. Boko Haram—a brutal terrorist group that kills innocent men, women and children—must be stopped.
Hundreds of kidnapped children deserve to be returned to their families. Nigerians who have been forced to flee deserve to return to their homes. Boko Haram wants to destroy Nigeria and all that you have worked to build. By casting your ballot, you can help secure your nation’s progress.
I’m told that there is a saying in your country: “to keep Nigeria one is a task that must be done.” Today, I urge all Nigerians—from all religions, all ethnic groups, and all regions—to come together and keep Nigeria one.
And in this task of advancing the security, prosperity, and human rights of all Nigerians, you will continue to have a friend and partner in the United States of America.

Husband and Daddy duty: President Obama spotted shopping for wife and daughters

Imagine a whole President walking into a fashion store to pick few items for his loved ones? That’s almost unbelievable. Shop attendants and the General store manager at Gap, New York City couldn’t believe their eyes yesterday when America’s President Obama walked into their store to pick few fashion items for his wife, Michelle Obama, and daughters Sasha and Malia.

Humberto Anaya, the store’s general manager told Hollywoodlife that he was quite nice and very personable, (what was he expecting? Hostility?). “As nervous as I was– with all the activity coming up to the event—the second I shook his hand, that all went away. “One of my associates complimented him on his looks and he said ‘Did you get that on camera?’ It was really cute. He had great conversation with my associate around what the right items were to buy for his daughters and his wife.”

“Mr. Obama was very meticulous in his choices. For his wife, he bought a blue gapfit train jacket which retails for $64.95. For his bubbly teenage daughters, he bought two luxlight crewneck cardigans, (one in rose bush and the other in pink cameo). Both sweaters cost $44.95.”

Humberto also revealed that he was particular about the sizes of the items he picked. “He preferred to keep them in sweaters and tops and he didn’t want to buy anyone bottoms in the wrong size. He was more nervous that he’d get the wrong size in the bottom selection than anything else. I think he knows their taste well enough that they’d like the colors he picked.”
