Cech named Czech Footballer of the Year for the 9th time

Arsenal goalkeeper, Petr Cech has emerged the Czech Player of the Year award for the ninth time. The former Chelsea skipper edged out Hertha BSC midfielder, Vladimir Darida and China-based Borek Dockal.

Votes were determined by  players, coaches, football officials and journalists
 
 

Petr Cech and Laurent Koscielny cancel Arsenal's Christmas party

 
Arsenal will not be having their annual Christmas party this year.
The decision to cancel the ceremony was at the suggestion of Petr Cech and Laurent Koscielny. And it was reportedly done to avoid a backlash from irate fans. After falling nine-point back of Chelsea, the two decided that no one at the club deserves to have any fun in their lives, thus they canceled the players’ annual Christmas party.

Like Petr Cech who was recently honoured
for having the most number of clean sheets in Premier League history at 181 and
for being the first goalkeeper to win the Golden Glove with two different clubs
in the English top-flight – Arsenal and Chelsea, some notable sportsmen were
also included in the Guinness Book of World Records 2017

Cristiano Ronaldo earned a spot for
having the most followers on Twitter by any athlete, with a following of 47.4m.
Everton’s Gareth Barry also holds the record for most Premier League starts by
any player- pegged at 580.

Petr Cech had an unforgettable evening this week
Following Arsenal’s 4-3 loss to Liverpool on Sunday, the 34-year-old damaged his Audi RS7 sports car while leaving the Emirates. The former Chelsea skipper had no idea how it happened.

“What happened is I hit a pillar, that’s the reality. How it happened is difficult to say.
“But it was one of those days where nothing is really happening.
“We were just getting out of the car park and talking about the game and suddenly I just heard ‘careful’ and that was it.
“Nothing happened to anyone, everybody else was fine. We were going very slowly, obviously in a car park you can’t go any faster than a few miles an hour.
“So that was the lucky part of it.”

Petr Cech’s day went from bad to worse as he crashed his car shortly he Arsenal lost to Liverpool in their first Premier League match of the season.

Shortly after the match which saw him concede four goals, the former Chelsea skipper drove his car into a car park as he was attempting to leave Emirates Stadium. 

“Today’s just got a lot worse for Petr Cech, who’s driven his car into a pillar on the car park. Looks a write-off.” Sports Editor, Matthew Stanger wrote on Twitter.

Cech Republic goalkeeper, Petr Cech has announced his international retirement. The Arsenal skipper who won the 10th Golden Boot Award is the most capped Czech Republic player in history. The 34 year-old who recently admitted that he’s disappointed with his first season at the club made 3 appearances at Euro 2016.

Arsenal goalkeeper, Petr Cech has emerged the most-capped player in Czech Republic. The former Chelsea skipper achieved the feat today as he made his 119th international appearance during a friendly involving his country and Malta. The game ended 6-0 in favour of his side.

Arsenal goalkeeper, Petr Cech has for the eight time been crowned the Czech Republic 2015 Footballer of the Year. The 33 year-old won through votes cast by players, coaches, football federation officials and journalists.
Sparta Prague striker David Lafata, Hertha Berlin midfielder Vladimir Darida came second and third respectively.

Adidas mistakenly sends Petr Cech's gloves to Chelsea.

Giant Kit manufacturer, Adidas this week mistakenly sent Petr Cech’s gloves ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Chelsea this weekend. The package was sent to the Blues’ Surrey training ground instead of Hertfordshire.

The 33-year-old switched to the Emirates in June 2015 after spending eleven years at Stamford Bridge.

A Chelsea source however told The Telegraph that the error didn’t create much fuss as the package was immediately sent back to him.

There were a few smiles and mischievous remarks when Petr’s gloves turned up here, but we made sure they got back to him as soon as possible.’ The source revealed.
