The Great Fightback!
Months after releasing her book, “On Becoming” which documents her relationship with ex partner, Maje Ayida, O  Air Personality, Toke Makinwa has been asked to stop the sales of the book and promotional activities. This was communicated to her through a ‘letter of demand’ by Carter-Ruck, a top defamation law firm in Britain, hired by Maje.
The book which was published on November 27, 2016, by Kachifo Limited and which sold out days after its release, was described by the fitness expert as an exaggerated fabrication containing defamatory words. toke had accused her ex husband of cheating, infecting her with sexually transmitted diseases amongst other accusations.

In the letter, Maje was said to have “requested legal separation” from her “within 6 months” of their marriage in January 2014 — “when it became clear that the marriage was breaking down” but this was not documented in the book. The lawyers claimed there was no time she was infected with “STI in the past or at any stage in their relationship.” and also refuted claims that Maje “did not financially contribute adequately” to the marriage. Since its release, the book, according to the lawyers have brought “public ridicule” on Maje, adding that his reputation has been “assaulted, injured and damaged.” and that it is not a true reflection of who he is, his character and his background.”
“His professional integrity as one of the leading health and wellness practitioners in Nigeria, and his professional credibility built over the years through dedicated hard work have been besmirched”, parts from the letter read.
