D'banj, Femi Kuti, 17 others collaborate on 'ONE' track

19 of Africa’s hottest artistes are working on an exciting music project for one.org‘s the DO AGRIC campaign. The artistes are coming together to rebrand agriculture and tell African youths that their future is literally beneath their feet. They will be using their voices to inspire action and tell political leaders that the time has come to adopt better agricultural policies that will boost productivity, increase incomes, and help lift millions of Africans out of extreme poverty.
The song which has been titled ‘Cocoa ‘na Chocolate’ was co-produced by Cobhams Asuquo and DeeVee of DB Records and directed by Asuquo / Godfather Productions. ONE and some of the artistes will be in Lagos to launch the song across radio networks around the continent. The music video will be launched on 3 April 2014.

PIXS: CELEBRITY PROTESTERS DAY 1-3

It's day 2 of National strike and Day 9 of protest against fuel subsidy removal. Nigerians from all walks of life- traders, medical doctors, lawyers, social media activists, celebrities (musicians, actors and actresses, comedian to mention a few) were present at the gatherings, motivating the crowd with their songs all with the intent of persuading the government to rescind its decision and make life bearable for the Nigerian masses.
Some of the celebs present at the event include:

FUNKE AKINDELE'S 'THE RETURN OF JENIFA' MAGIC.

There's no magic or short cut to success except hardwork and persistence. This is exactly the formula Funke Akindele used. Having been in the industry for a long time featuring in both english and yoruba films. Needless to say her Jenifa film which was released in 2009 gave her the much-needed break and made her profile rise. Jenifa came and we all enjoyed the intrigues and excitement that came with it. When the news of her Return of Jenifa permeated media headlines, many hissed and felt her action was unnecessary but the 35 year-old Law graduate knew what she was doing.
The film which had a parade of stars from the entertainment industry, namely; Omawumi, Eldee, Helen Paul, Rukky Sanda, Banky W and a host of others is not only the most talked about movie but has grossed about N30million at the cinemas. After the Return of Jenifa comes 'Tango with me'.

CHRISTIAN WINS GLO NAIJA SINGS 3

Christian Doherty, an Abuja-based singer has been adjudged the outright winner of the third edition of the Glo Naija sings show beating Vicky and Mattade.
By virtue of his victory, 35 year old Obafemi Awolowo graduate has become $100,000 richer (N15million), and a proud owner of a brand new Toyota RAV 4.
The show was held on 13th November 2011 and hosted by Darey. Musical performances were reeled by Omawumi, Onyeka Onwenu, Eldee to mention a few.
