Actress Nkiru Sylvanus has been re-employed by Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha but unlike other appointments, this isn’t political, she’s been appointed the Ag. Director General of a yet-to-be-built Film Academy in Owerri. The former Special Assistant to the Governor will ensure judicious use of finance and other logistics.
The announcement was made during a courtesy visit to the Governor by members of the Imo Chapter of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN). He also added that setting up the film school is part of measures to promote the identity and cultural heritage of the Igbos.
