Nominations Now Open For Nigerian Writers Awards 2018.

 
Another Nigerian Writers Awards is upon us!
The prestigious platform  rewards excellence and celebrates Nigerian Writers of different genres from literature, journalism entertainment and arts in Nigeria as well as in the diaspora. The first of its kind awards do not only reward writers of different genres but also writers’ supportive brands.
Following the successes of the 1st and 2nd edition the Nigerian Writers Awards opens nomination for the 3rd edition. The award will consider nominations of writers who have proven their worth and commitment in writing, entries will be received from individuals, private sectors, civil society or government and will  be rewarded based on Originality, Creativity, and Message delivery.
The 3rd edition will consider nomination for activities in the following period under review: March 2016- June 2017.
Categories includes; Business writer of the year, Entertainment writer, Feature writer, Blogger of the year, Literary blogger, Health writer, Sports writer, Script writer, Poetry writer, Spoken Word, Poetry Promoter, Campus writer, Fiction writer, Non-fiction writer, Faith-based writer, Romance writer, Diaspora Writer Child/teenage writer, Young writer of the year, Writer of the year, Media House of the year (TV/Radio/Print) and Writers’ Most Supportive Brand of the year.
Nomination will run through from 24th of August 2017 – 20th of October 2017, there will be pre-selection after the deadline of nominations and nominee list will be released in December 2017.
Award Ceremony: The announcement of the winners will be at the grand event which will hold in March 2018 in Nigeria.

Nigerian Writers Awards 2015:Nominations begin.

Nominations for the 2015 edition of the prestigious Nigerian Writers Awards (NWA) are now open. The Awards is set up to recognize and commend those who have done well in different fields of writing and have contributed to the upliftment of the society with the aim of building self-confidence through reward of excellence also by creating a synergy, trusting environment and supportive relationship between adult mentors and young writers.
The world today is buried beneath the debris of Media Exploration and media can never be complete without writing been in existence with this fact NWA holds the vision to rebrand the Nation through the skills of writing using the media and to encourage writers of different genre most especially Nigerian young and budding writers.
This year’s Nigerian Writers Awards ceremony will hold at a gala dinner in October 2015 in Nigeria where Nigerian writers, legendries, youths, budding and established writers home and abroad will come together to celebrate with 20 major categories and 23 awards. 
The awards will consider nominations of writers who have proven their worth and commitment in writing, entries will be received from individuals, private sectors, civil society or government.
The Nigerian Writers Awards 2015 will consider nomination for activities in the following period under review: December 2013- March 2015 with the following categories, Business writer of the year, Political writer, Entertainment writer, News writer, Blog writer, Health writer, Sports writer, Script writer, Song writer, Poetry writer, Campus writer, Indigenous writer, Fiction writer, Non-fiction writer, Faith-based writer, Inspiration writer, Romance writer, Child/teenage writer, Young writer of the year, Writer of the year.
The nomination period will run through from June 2015 to August 2015, there will be pre-selection after the deadline of nominations.
Selection of winners: There will be thorough screening on nominees, the Judges votes and the Voters votes will be what determines the winning list. The Award Jury is composed of individuals of high moral stature with demonstrated commitment to the ideals of the Nation who have distinguished themselves in their respective writing fields and covers virtually all category of writing. The evaluation will be based on five criteria; Originality, Influence, Creativity, Consistency and Impart.
Award Ceremony: The grand event will hold on October 2015 in Nigeria where the award of the category winners will be announced.

Send nominee’s details (profile, platform the nominee writes for/books etc.) and the nominee’s works (web links, soft copies, online books. Etc.) ensure you include which category(ies) you are nominating and send to [email protected].
