Nigerian troops rescue 200 girls & 93 women from Sambisa forest

Nigerian troops today rescued 200 Girls & 93 Women held hostage by members of terrorist sect, Boko Haram from Sambisa forest. The Nigerian Military cannot confirm if they are the missing Chibok girls.

Defence HeadQuarters Nigeria made the announcement on its twitter page:

“FLASH: Troops this afternoon rescued 200 girls & 93 women from #Sambisa Forest. We cannot confirm if the #ChibokGirls are in this group /1

Nigerian Army upturns death sentence of 57 soldiers

57 soldiers who were found guilty of mutiny last december after refusing to fight Boko Haram Islamist militants have been acquitted.

Their judgement was overturned at a special court martial of the Nigerian Army in today in Abuja. The court however convicted and sentenced 15 other accused soldiers to one year jail terms each.
