2018 World Cup: Download Super Eagles' theme song, 'Dem Go Hear Am'.

Aiteo Group (www.AiteoGroup.com), the Official Optimum Partner of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), last Saturday premiered to industry applause, an official theme song to mentally boost the Super Eagles of Nigeria to go for glory at the Russia 2018 World Cup. This is also as they pledged to donate $50,000 to the team ‘for every unreturned goal’ scored at the Mundial.
The rousing theme song titled, ‘Dem Go Hear Am, meaning “Go Show Them” was put together by Nigeria’s Hip-Hop/Afrobeat luminaries; Olamide and Phyno. The Single, has been well received by Nigeria’s teeming football and music fans, and is currently enjoying massive airplay with over 1,000,000 downloads recorded across assorted media channels. The hit track had also garnered 7.5 million social media impressions barely 24 hours after release.
According to Benedict Peters, the Executive Vice Chairman of Aiteo Global Group, the Group’s sponsorship of the theme song is yet another demonstration of its commitment to promoting football in Nigeria as a means of uniting the people.
“Football is a phenomenon in Nigeria. You can see and feel its power on every street. It galvanises unity amongst our people, irrespective of ethnic or class differences. As the World Cup kicks off, we solidly throw our weight behind our national team and its ever-effervescent supporters spread across the globe. We look forward to great football moments that will become historic as the Super Eagles play to covet the World Cup trophy,” he said.
Also speaking at the launch of the theme song, President of Nigeria’s Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, extolled Aiteo for its unflinching support for football development in Nigeria. “Aiteo has been magnanimous, not just to the Super Eagles but in their contributions towards the revitalisation of football in Nigeria and Africa. Our partnership has returned impressive results; we are able to pay our coaches on time and keep our players well motivated. We are glad that Aiteo continues to exceed our expectations always. They are indeed deserving of commendations.”
Aiteo signed a N2.5 billion (about USD 7 million) sponsorship agreement with NFF in May 2017, to cater for the salaries of all national team coaches for a period of five years.
At a star-studded listening party for the theme song which held in Lagos on Saturday June 9, 2018, Aiteo Group, also announced a $50,000 bonus for every unreturned goal scored by the Super Eagles, at the Mundial.

AITEO group now NFF Federation Cup title sponsor.


Energy solution company, AITEO Group yesterday acquired the naming rights for Nigeria’s oldest football competition, the Nigeria Football Federation Cup for 5 years.  The competition is now to be known as Aiteo Cup.
Speaking at the press conference for signing of Aiteo Cup agreement, NFF President, Amaju Pinnick said, “We want to celebrate and thank Aiteo. I promise you, we will not only qualify for AFCON but we will beat SA in SA”.
Ace sports broadcaster and Independent Chairperson of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), Aisha Falode chipped in, “I am very excited that the women (women’s FA Cup) have been taken care of” 

With the new deal, men’s winners will now get N25m prize money while runners-up will receive N10m. Women’s winners will be paid N10m and their runners-up N5m.

NFF announces N2.5bn partnership deal with AITECO Group.

The Nigeria Football Federation have announced AITECO Group, a frontline integrated energy solutions company as its latest corporate sponsor. According to  NFF President, Amaju Pinnick, the partnership which is worth N2.5bn starts on May 1, 2017 and will last five years with an initial option of a one-year extension.

The firm becomes the official optimum partner of the federation and will pay salaries of all National team coaches for the next five years. The statement issued after the signing of the agreement, “it will improve the technical preparation and enhance the performance of Nigerian national teams involved in tournaments.”

Shehu Dikko, chairman of the League Management Company Limited (LMC) added, “We have opened our books at the NFF to Aiteo to inspect at any time to show our financial transparency”

NFF unable to pay clearing costs of new Nike kit

 
We heard about NFF’s financial crisis but when did things go this bad?
According to reports,  Nigeria are yet to pay the clearing costs of the new Nike kit which was unveiled few months ago.
The solid green kit with white ribbing around the back of the modern crewneck collar is made with breathable, mesh fabric for optimal ventilation and sweat-wicking for lightweight comfort.
Albeit the team would don the shirt against Algeria this weekend the bulk of the consignment is still at the ports.
“They have been there for weeks and we have been unable to pay the clearing costs because the federation has no money,” a top official told KweséSports.

Gernot Rohr confirmed as Super Eagles’ new technical adviser

German manager, Gernot Rohr has penned a 2-year deal to become the new technical adviser of the Super Eagles of Nigeria. Rohr’s focus is to ensure that Nigeria secures qualification to the 2018 World Cup coming up in Russia. NFF committee vice-chairman Ahmed Yusuf
Fresh expressed satisfaction with the candidate.

“The committee was impressed with Mr.
Rohr’s profile and current activities for the German Football Federation (DFB),
so we invited him to Nigeria for exhaustive deliberations. “He was very
positive, showed great interest in the job and is ready and willing to live in
Nigeria. 


He is also willing to work with indigenous Nigerian coaches and with
the committee and believes the Super Eagles can qualify for the 2018 FIFA World
Cup, which is very important to the NFF. He swayed the committee with his
calmness, good knowledge of the African terrain, focus and maturity.” Fresh said

Reasons Paul Le Guen rejected NFF Technical Adviser’s Offer

Former Cameroon coach, Paul Le Guen, has rejected the Nigeria Football Federation’s offer as technical adviser of the Super Eagles of Nigeria. Recall that the football governing body announced his appointment and that of Salisu Yusuf, the new Chief Coach less than 48 hours ago . Renowned sports pundit, Godwin Enakhena has however listed reasons why the 52 year-old Frenchman is turning down the job. 

1) He wasn’t a popular choice within the NFF
2) From get go, he was very enthusiastic about leading Nigeria but he has heard and read so much in the last 72 hours about the Super Eagles hot seat that…
3) He wasn’t comfortable with the possibility that he would be sacked if he failed to meet the target of qualifying Nigeria for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
4) He wasn’t comfortable with a provision stating he must stay in Nigeria.

New Super Eagles coach emerges

Former PSG coach, Paul Le Guen has emerged the next Super Eagles manager, the Nigeria Football Federation has confirmed. Recall that the shortlist of three coaches unveiled last Friday included Le Guen, Salisu Yusuf and Tom Saintfiet.
52 year-old Le Guen has previously managed Rennes, Lyon, Rangers, Cameroon. His last managerial appointment was at Oman national team. The Frenchman would be officially unveiled by the NFF on July 18.
However, the position of assistant coach is still vacant. “As it is now the position of the deputy has been thrown open because Yusuf is still insisting that he would not work as an assistant to Le Guen. Those who worked on their entries picked the Frenchman and with the hope that Yusuf could learn a lot from him for the immediate future but he (Yusuf) appears to have some other ideas so the federation will now have to consider a new person altogether to replace Yusuf.” An official revealed.

Pay me while I'm alive – Oliseh tells NFF

Former coach of the Super Eagles, Sunday Oliseh, and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) are still at loggerheads. The ex footballer who coached the national team from July 4, 2015 to February 2016 took to his official twitter page to appeal to the football body to pay his outstanding wages and that of his assistant. 

“Hope the NFF will pay coach Losciuto & myself
the huge amounts they still owe us without litigation whilst we are alive! Pray
they listen! For 5 months, Losciuto’s lawyers’ letters to D NFF have been
ignored.Should CAS suspend Nigeria it is not his fault.B4 they lie 2 you again!” He wrote.


The NFF swiftly debunked the claims on their social media platform. 
“The NFF can confirm it is not
owing former @NGSuperEagles coach Sunday Oliseh, any
money whatsoever” It fired back.

NFF Announces Plans To Honour Keshi & Amodu

 

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced plans to hold a farewell testimonial match in honour of the late Super Eagles managers, Shuaibu Amodu and Stephen Keshi. The match which is organized by the Lagos state Government in conjunction with the Sports Writer’s Association of Nigeria (SWAN) and the Nigeria Football Supporters Club will hold at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere on July 23, 2016. 

President-General of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Rafiu Ladipo, the Chairman of the committee for the event noted that  the event is meant to raise money for the families of the departed coaches as well as celebrate them. The money raised would be added to other donations across the country.

“The Farewell Testimonial match would see the Super Eagles players battle against Lagos All Stars team in the main match of the day, while the curtain raiser would be a game between the Lagos SWAN team and the Supporters Club. This would be followed by Musical Concert where prominent Nigerian musicians and comedians would perform in the entertainment aspect of the programme. This aspect of the event is coordinated by veteran music act, Chris Mba,” he added.

“Amodu and Keshi must be celebrated with a fanfare as they left solid footprints on the sands of time. It is sad that we won’t see the two indigenous coaches that qualified Nigeria for three editions of the World Cup out of the five the country competed in, again. We intend to celebrate Lagos as the state where these coaches were made. Keshi started from St. Finbarrs College in Lagos and also played top international matches as a junior and senior at the National Stadium in Lagos, while for Amodu, as he achieved all the feats at the club and national team levels chose Lagos as his home. He left his family in Lagos to go to Abuja and Benin City to pursue owed monies before he met his death.” Coordinator of the event, Mr. Effiong Nyong, revealed.

Sports Minister orders NFF to pay coaches' salaries

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung in a meeting with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) board on Tuesday ordered the governing body to pay all outstanding salaries and allowances of national team coaches and officials with immediate effect.
“We received a report that the bonuses of all the players have been cleared [Monday] but there are challenges with the salaries of the officials.
“I have directed that the available funds in the federation should be mopped up to pay the officials because an empty stomach does not hear the voice of gospel.” He said.
