The 2014 AMVCAs went down successfully yesterday, 8th March 2014 at the Eko Hotel and Suites. Biggest award winners of the night were Nairobi Half-life and The Contract. They carted home 4 awards each. Flower Girl also scooped two awards. Some of my favourite winners include Funke Akindele, who had several nominations last year but didn’t win any. Fast-rising actor, Tope Tedela, Mercy Aigbe Gentry and Nse Ikpe Etim.

MERCY AIGBE'S HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED FILM, OSAS GOES TO THE CINEMAS THIS EASTER

Mercy Aigbe, no doubts is one actress who is a force to reckon with in the yoruba section of the Nollywood industry. The beautiful mother of one who became popular after her role in Ibadan-based Wemimo Olu Paul’s film has over the years become one of the most constant and successful actresses in the industry.
Born to Edo parents, the talented actress is setting a pace with her new movie (OSAS) which was shot in Benin, Delta, and Lagos.
Directed by actor Muyideen Ayinde, the suspence-filled, action-packed movie will be screened in Silverbird cinemas in Lagos,benin, Portharcourt and Abuja

SYNOPSIS
This hilarious movie centres on a weird local Benin girl who strives to be the best at everything she does.
After her admission into the university, she met a lady from a rich home who loves her so much
despite her egocentric nature.
They became best of friends and envy of all on campus. Lateron,
things turned sour between the two when they fell in love with the same guy.

LOLA MARGRET TO PREMIERE LATEST MOVIE 'OMO OLORO' IN THE UK

 
Come February 10th 2012, talented thespian, Lola Margret also known as ‘Bisola Alanu’ will lead a couple of her colleagues, fans and friends to the United Kingdom to premier her latest masterpiece, ‘Omo Oloro’. Billed to take place at the prestigious Planet Nollywood from 8pm, lanky comedian and actor, Bolaji Amusan popularly known as Mr Latin will anchor the event while musical performances will be granted by fuji musician, Sefiu Alao amongst others.
 
Omo Oloro whose preview has generated lots of commendation within and outside the country stars Faithia Balogun, Mercy Aigbe, Lola Margret to mention a few, it was also directed by prolific and award-winning Bayo Tijani. Promotion for the movie is being handled by top UK promoter, Ade banks, tickets for the premier goes for 20pounds for a single person and 30pounds for double.
