The Lagos premiere of Kunle Afolayan’s new movie, October 1 was held yesterday September 28, 2014 at the Eko Hotels&Suites Lagos. The old-school-themed event was attended by first lady of Lagos State; Dame Abimbola Fashola, Tunde Kelani, Genevieve Nnaji, Ramsey Nouah, Funke Akindele, Segun Arinze, Kehinde Bankole, Yomi Fash-Lanso, Dakore Egbuson, Sadiq Baba, Deola Sagoe, Wole Ojo to mention a few.

Actor/singer, Gabriel Afolayan travelled down to Seychelles to shoot the video of his new single, titled Awelewa. The video was shot by his elder brother/filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan.

“And it’s a Wrap! We just finished shooting the video from Gabriel Afolayan’s new single coming out soon called “Awelewa” . Video entirely shot in Seychelles. Thanks to Africa film factory, Government of Seychelles for the super support, Yureni (Actress from Shrimlanka, shaili the choreography from india, the Dancing group of Seychelles, and the entire crew from Shrimlanka and Seychelles. Well done guys. Watch out.” Kunle wrote.

Ebola Virus: Kunle Afolayan and brother isolated on flight

Nollywood actor, Kunle Afolayan revealed how he and his younger brother, Gabriel Afolayan were isolated on a flight because of the fear of Ebola virus. The award-winning director and his sibling who recently arrived Bel Ombre, Seychelles said they had to go through many protocols simply because they are from West Africa; a region where the EVD is rampant.

“We landed Republic of Seychelles safe and sound. Myself and Gabriel were isolated from the other Kenyan crew that went we us and we were made to sign plenty forms cos we came from west africa (Ebola region). Gabriel didn’t have his yellow fever card so he has to do a test tomorrow and bring the result back to the health section of the airport. Thanks to SBC to the rescue and warm welcome.” He wrote on his facebook page.

Ebola Virus: Kunle Afolayan, Toyin Aimakhu, Yomi Fash-Lanso, others feature in new campaign

Ace filmmaker, Tunde Kelani has joined the Nigerian Government/Ministry of Health who are intensifying awareness campaign to enlighten people on the deadly Ebola virus. Movie Moments gathered that the award-winning cinematographer was reportedly contacted by a UK-based international health organization to shoot the campaign ad.

Nollywood actors working on the project include Kunle Afolayan, Toyin Aimakhu, Halima Abubakar, Yomi Fash Lanso, Funky Mallam and many more.

Trailer: Dazzling Mirage

Here’s the trailer to one of the most anticipated movies of 2014. Directed by ace cinematographer, Tunde Kelani, Dazzling Mirage tells the story of a sickle cell patient who overcomes social stigma, prejudice and  low self-esteem to achieve marriage and motherhood.

On May 18th, 2014, renowned actor/filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan hosted friends and colleagues to the private screening of his anticipated flick, October 1. The event which was held at the at the Intercontinental Hotel, Lagos was attended by Richard Mofe-Damijo, Tunde Kelani, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Mo Abudu, Sadiq Daba, Kenneth Okonkwo, Fabian Adeoye Lojede, Segun Awolowo to mention a few.

Kunle Afolayan to feature Idris Alba in new flick

 
Albeit his October 1 flick has not yet been premiered, award-winning actor and director, Kunle Afolayan is working on another film titled, Beasts of No Nation.
Featuring American actor, Idris Elba, the renowned film-maker few days back invited all aspiring actors for an audition at his Golden Effects studio situated at Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos. Kunle Afolayan has four films to his credit; Irapada, Figurine, Phone Swap and October 1.

Prolific actor, Kunle Afolayan and award-winning Ghanaian actress, Lydia Forson have been named ambassadors for the 10th edition of the prestigious Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA).
Their individual achievements as well as their passion for AMAA are some of the reasons why Peace Fiberesima, CEO, AMAA awards picked the two thespians . As ambassadors, they will also help spread the word about the 10th edition of the AMAA brand which comes up in 2014.
