Jaywon and Kennis Music call it quits

Why does this keep happening? The relationship between popular music act, Iledare Oluwajuwonlo James, aka Jaywon and his record label, Kennis Music has come to an abrupt end. While we are unable to ascertain the cause of the conflict (if there’s any) we gathered that Jaywon through his lawyer has requested for his contract to be terminated. Kennis Music has also issued an official statement on the matter.

“Iledare Oluwajuwonlo James aka Jaywon has written a letter via his lawyer requesting for his contract with Kennis Music to be terminated. JAYWON wrote,in the same letter, his readiness and willingness to pay off all costs therein accordingly.

Meanwhile, Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria IBAN MEMBERS and all broadcasters on all platforms are hereby advised to Un-list the works (Either single performances or and collaborations) of Iledare Oluwajuwonlo James aka Jaywon from their respective rotational play lists until his (Jaywon) request to buy over his contract is fully completed to avoid litigation.

Thanks.

KENNIS MUSIC RELEASES STATEMENT ON GOLDIE'S DEATH

It’s been pretty difficult crafting an intro for this particular story, yes people die everyday but Goldie’s death sent millions of shock waves. Here was a person who still replied her Valentine messages on twitter yesterday- hours before she gave up.
Susan Bimpe Harvey popularly called Goldie died few hours after returning from US where she attended the Grammy Awards I gathered complained of severe headache before she collapsed and was rushed to Reddington hospital where she breathed her last.

Kenny Ogungbe, CEO, Kennis Music, the label which Goldie was signed on till her death,  who understandably is still reeling in shock has issued a terse statement regarding this unfortunate incident.

“With a deep sense of loss, we announce the shocking death of our darling music star, Goldie Harvey. Goldie, 31, died on Thursday after she complained of a severe headache shortly after her arrival from the United States where she went to witness the Grammy Award. She was rushed from her Park View, Ikoyi, Lagos residence to her official hospital, Reddington, Victoria Island, Lagos, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival at exactly 7:30pm in the evening.
We consider this period a gloomy moment for us and the entire Nigerian music industry in view of the circumstance in which she passed away; the abundance of talent she exhibited in her short but eventful music career and the various opportunities her trip to the United States of America would have availed her. She is survived by her father, step- mother, brothers and sisters.
We deeply sympathise with her family and fans all over the world and very grateful to all and sundry, especially, the vibrant Nigerian media for their concern and prompt reportage. We shall keep everybody informed as events unfold as we are devastated by the sudden loss.”

The remains of the Ekiti Indigene has been dislodged at the Lekan Ogunsola Memorial House of the Ikeja General Hospital. Friends, colleagues who were spotted at the hospital include Denrele, Kenny and I’d Ogungbe, Uti Nwachukwu, Karen Igho, STV presenter Yvonne ‘Vixen’ Ekwere and a host of others.

May her soul find repose. Amen!
