Okey Emordi sacked as coach of Kano Pillars

Kano Pillars have shown coach Okey Emordi the exit door following a poor run of result that have left the defending champions 9th on the log and also being knocked out of the CAF Champions League and the federations cup. Kano Pillars have only garnered 27points from 19games – 9 points behind table toppers, Sunshine stars.
Ahmed ‘Yaro Yaro’ Garba will take charge of the team on interim basis before a new technical adviser is appointed.

Enyimba, Kano Pillars crash out of Federation Cup

Cup holders, Enyimba Fc of Aba, suffered a 3-1 penalty shootout defeat to Remo Stars and failed to advance beyond the round of 32. The game went into penalties after the scores stood at 1-1 after regulation time.  Kadiri Ikhana’s men could only convert one of their spot kick while Salifou, Mbale Chukwuje and Adepogun Tayo were all on target for Remo stars and ensured the team’s victory.

Champions of the NPFL, Kano Pillars also suffered a shocking defeat to a lower division side, Plateau United.  Plateau United won 5-3 on penalties and are gradually becoming the ‘giant beaters’ after having defeated another premier league side, shooting stars, to reach the third round.
