Amaka Igwe: Nigerian celebrities pay tribute

Nigerian celebrities, mostly Nollywood stars/colleagues/proteges have taken to their social media accounts to pay tribute to the late veteran film-maker and writer, Amaka Igwe, who passed on two days ago shortly after an asthma attack.

'CRACK YA RIBS' TO MARK 12TH ANNIVERSARY IN ABUJA

Illustrious entertainer, Julius Agwu will on September 30th storm Transcorp Hilton Abuja for the 2012 edition of the annual Crack Ya Ribs show.

With the great turnouts of the show in America and Europe this year with impressive line-up of entertainers, residents of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and environs are in for great surprises.

For over a decade, Crack Ya Ribs has always been an exhilarating night of sophisticated music, dance and comedy that has featured some of the best entertainers in the music industry like D'Banj, Timaya, P-Square, 9ice and others.

Entertainers billed to perform at Crack Ya Ribs Abuja are Timaya, Inyanya, Funny Bone, Senator, I Go Die, Dan D'Humorous, Osama and Tripple White. As always, Julius Agwu will play his role as the host of the show with his rib cracking jokes.

Speaking concerning the Abuja concert, Julius said "the Abuja edition of this year's Crack Ya Ribs is my independence gift to Nigerians as we return after the summer tour. Not forgetting the fact that this year marks 12 years of Crack Ya Ribs and it has been repackaged with some fresh ideas to keep the brand going.

We have made it bigger by turning it to the event to a Pan-African event and that informed why there were performances from Ghanaian leading music and comedy stars at the London show. With our current plans for the Abuja show, lovers of quality entertainment are in for a good time".

After hosting the show annually for over a decade in London, Crack Ya Ribs held for the first time this year in Glasgow, New York, Dallas and Houston. Crack Ya Ribs once held in Atlanta and the massive yearning for the return of the show to America brought about the three cities tour in America.

Having earned his stripes as far entertainment business is concerned; Julius Agwu remains one of the most sought after comedians in Africa. His comedy concerts are always hilarious and fun filled.

OPA WILLIAMS ENDS NITE OF A THOUSAND LAUGHS



Nite of a thousand laffs need no introduction, the comedy programme which came on board in 1995 has played host to the likes of Basketmouth, I go Dye, Julius Agwu, Okey Bakkasi and many more.
Movie Producer and the Producer, Opa Williams has decided to bring the show to an end. According to him, the show unlike before is no more unique as it used to be as many comedians are doing similar shows, comedians according to him are trying to recreate the show and also recycling the same jokes. The final editions will however take place on 26th December 2011 in Benin and January 1, 2012 in Port Harcourt.

CRACK YA RIBS GOES TO PORT HARCOURT

Julius D’Genius Agwu in a bid to spice up the Christmas season is taking one of the most popular and consistent comedy shows in Nigeria, ‘Crack ya Ribs’ to Port Harcourt on Christmas day.
Billed to hold at Hotel Presidential, the show which will have humour merchants like Dan d’humorous, Senator, Osama, Funky4, Prince Hezekiah, Romeo, Acapella, promises to be spectacular.
Musicians performing at the show include Iceprince, Chocolate City Jewel, Franks Edwards, Kcee, Ijaw Boys Allstarz, and Burna Boy.

TEE A TO MARK 15 YEARS ON STAGE

Ace stand-up comedian and presenter, Tyme out with Tee A, Tunde Adewale also called Tee-A is set to host fans, friends, colleagues in a dinner concert as part of plans to commemorate his 15th year anniversary in the entertainment industry.
The concert which will hold on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos has been tagged 'Tymeout With Tee-A Live In Lagos Dinner Concert'. Tee-A will also be celebrating the first anniversary of his 'Tymeout with Tee-A' TV show on Africa Magic, DSTV. A 'The Best Of Tymeout With Tee-A' DVD will also be launched at the event.
Humour merchants expected at the event include: Ali Baba, Basketmouth, Julius Agwu, Basorge Tariah, Okey Bakassi, Mc Abbey, Madam Princess, Teju Babyface. While musical performances would be granted by Naeto C, Sir Shina Peters, MI, Ebony Band, DJ Jimmy Jatt etc.
