Comedian Julius D’Genius Agwu and members of his family recently held a thanksgiving service to appreciate God for seeing him through a brain tumor surgery several months back.  The event which was held at This Present House Lagos was also attended by close friends and colleagues. Ex Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, Ali Baba, Omoni Oboli, Basketmouth, Bovi,Tejubabyface and Segun Arinze were present at the occasion.

Months after undergoing a brain surgery, Julius Agwu steps out in style

Few months after undergoing a successful brain surgery in the US, humour merchant, Julius D’Genius Agwu has made his first major outing. The actor and his family members; his wife Ibiere, kids; Zahra and Zhadok were spotted at a function recently.
‘#AboutYesterday #Renewed #Redeemed 1st major outing in Montths #NaGOD’. He wrote on instagram.
Meanwhile the comedian will be holding a thanksgiving service alongside a special edition of his ‘Crack Ya Ribs’ concert in London.

Photos: Comedian Julius Agwu survives brain surgery.

Prominent comedian, Julius ‘D Genius’ Agwu is in a thanksgiving mood after surviving a brain surgery. After series of tests, two lumps were discovered and successfully removed from his brain. The lumps according to Yes! Magazine were the cause of his loss of appetite and weight loss. 
The operation took place‎ at the Park Plaza Hospital in Houston Texas, United States of America on May 12, 2015 and right now he’s back in the country and recuperating fast.

So

me really heart-skipping incidents happened to him prior to the surgery abroad. On a particular day, he reportedly had a seizure and ran out of breath. His wife Ibiere got their maid and the security man to assist her in rushing him to their hospital in Lekki. He sprung to life after several hours and then left for America for proper medical attention afterwards.


The father of two who is making preparations for the 10th anniversary of his annual Crack Ya Ribs in London, thanked his wife for standing by him all through the medical crisis. 
“I want to thank everybody who supported me in one way or the other. Those that were praying for me and all that. I’m planning a thanksgiving where I will still tell the full story. But for now, I just want to thank God and my wife. Onyeoma! My wife tried. The day I had the seizure, she put her finger in my mouth and I bit it…All the vomit; the mess; she was the one brushing and bathing me on the bed and clearing and cleaning them. IB really, really tried for me”. ‎ The comic actor said.

Desmond Elliot, Monalisa China, Julius Agwu, others Walk Against Kidney Diseases in Lagos

The ‘Walk Against Kidney Diseases’ event put together by former TV host, Emma Ugolee and Juliet Ibrahim Foundation initiative to create awareness about kidney related diseases and ways to reduce their risks took place in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria on March 21st, 2015.
Present at the 2-hour exercise were Monalisa China, Desmond Elliot, Julius Agwu, AY Comedian, Praiz, Sound Sultan,Yaw, Audu Maikori, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and a host of others.
A consultant nephrologist, ‎Dr Adebowale Adewunmi emphasized that the progression of the disease can be slowed down if discovered early. He added that most times the kidney is 70% battered before diagnosis.
He maintained that a kidney diseass are expensive to maintain because if the kidneys fail, treatment such as dialysis or kidney transplant are the only options to help people live longer and healthier lives.
Diabetes and high blood pressure are the two leading causes of kidney failure. Live a healthy lifestyle to prevent diabetes and high blood pressure. If you already have diabetes or high blood pressure, control them to prevent chronic kidney disease!

Julius Agwu drops gubernatorial ambition

Frontline comedian, singer and actor Julius ‘D’Genius’ Agwu is no longer contesting for the post of a Rivers State Governor in 2015. He was reportedly urged by the incumbent Governor of the state, Rotimi Amaechi to drop his ambition because they want the position to rotate to another part of the state.
A statement from his manager, Prince Sunday Uwem reads thus:
“There was a meeting on Thursday, October 30 between Julius Agwu and his kinsmen from Ikwere, and it was agreed that he should step down from the governorship race because the current Governor Rotimi Amaechi is his friend and they are both from the same area. 
They’ll want the position to rotate to another part of the state and Julius Agwu has decided to listen to his people and withdraw from contesting.”

Jokes Apart! Julius Agwu is running for the seat of the Governor of Rivers State (Photo)

I took the news with a pinch of salt initially but when I saw this photo, I believed. But really it is hard not to believe this is not another creative comedy skit. Ace comedian Julius D’genius Agwu has shown interest in running for the seat of the Governor of Rivers State. He, just like other politicians wants to effect change in his state.

I hope he doesn’t come out to say the photo isn’t real or another skit.

Julius Agwu to Host Nigerian Entertainment Industry Health Insurance Convention

Ace comedian and singer, Julius Agwu has been announced as the host for Nigerian Entertainment Industry Health Insurance Convention while veteran media personality and CEO of Inspiration FM, Mr Soni Irabor and top actor, Joseph Benjamin have been announced as the moderators for the convention respectively.
The event which is billed to hold on Tuesday July 22nd, 2014 at the Grand Ball Room of Eko Hotel & Suites is increasingly garnering momentum as more entertainment industry stakeholders continue to identify with it as novel project that is timely and laudable.
Aside launching the ‘Nigerian Entertainment Industry Health Trust Fund and making public the Board of Trustees, it is widely believed that this convention will help the practitioners of the entertainment industry to preserve their own future and that of their families. This will help them save a fraction of their earnings today for their health insurance schemes against rainy days instead of blowing all on life’s frivolities. It will also come at an affordable rate owing to the unique nature of the health insurance cover design being planned for the entire entertainment industry.
Under this plan, entertainers will have easy and ready access to a network of good doctors across several hospitals with standard medical facilities and information. They would also be encouraged to embark on regular checkups whereby potential life threatening ailments may be uncovered early and dealt with before degenerating. Adequate arrangements for timely intervention to save the lives of practitioners within the industry in case of eventualities will also be prominent on the agenda. At the end of this convention, entertainers would have been convinced on the need to put more premium values on their health as well the importance of health insurance.
The convention is presented by Nigerian Entertainment Industry Lecture Series (NEILS) and is in partnership with National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and Lagos State Ministry of Health.
