Top 10 highest paid soccer coaches in the world.

Well, I honestly don’t understand what criteria this people used to draw up their list cos just last December, Bayern Munich’s Pep Guardiola was named the highest paid coach in the world, how he’s now crawled into no 8 spot is a bit puzzling.

According to CP, former Brazil National team coach, Felipe Scolari has been named the highest paid soccer coach in the world. The tenth person on the list is Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger.

"Fabregas is the missing piece of Chelsea's engine" Jose Mourinho

So Jose Mourinho is back ‘in the media’, doing one of the things he knows how to do best. The Portuguese has described one of his summer signings, Cesc Fabregas as the missing piece of Chelsea’s engine. The 27 year-old who moved from Barcelona to Stamford Bridge in a £27million deal scored his first goal for the Blues against Vitesse Arnhem last week.
Mourinho stated, “I see him everywhere. Because he can play everywhere. His best quality is the speed at which he analyses the game and executes. He’s very intelligent. And gives you goals. Fabregas is the missing piece of our engine. He has a football brain we need in our team. All the players have a fantastic feeling around Cesc. They really feel that he sees football too fast. It is so rare that he loses the ball or makes a wrong decision. He can accelerate the intensity of the game, or he can reduce it.”
The Chelsea Manager also said he was surprised at the ex Arsenal captain’s decision to return to English football.
He continued, “I always thought Cesc would stay a Barcelona player. It was him feeling so strongly about coming back to English football, a bit like me. I was in a big club, Real Madrid, and wanted to be back. He was at a big club, Barcelona, and wanted to be back. When we heard that he wanted to come back to London, we knew he was the last one we wanted.”
Dear Mourinho, we hope this headline “stays” the same in the coming months.

Mourinho tips Nigeria to make it to the next round…because of one person.

Even if you all are sleeping, you should know who that ‘one’ person is. Well, he’s no other person than Chelsea midfielder, Mikel Obi. The Stamford bridge boss who wrote Ghana off earlier on has backed Nigeria to make it to the next round…….. because of him.
The former Real Madrid coach was quoted in an interview: “Argentina has to be the group winner and what makes me decide for Nigeria is the fact that I have there one player there.”
He has also tipped Ivory Coast to succeed because of that player Chelsea fans still hold in high respect- Didier Drogba. “I’m very emotional, I go always with my friends.” The Portuguese added.

Not Again! Samuel Eto'o fires another parting shot at Jose Mourinho

Let’s face it! Jose Mourinho’s “age” comment about Samuel Eto’o really hit the striker below the belt. Less than a week after branding the Portuguese a fool, the Cameroonian has fired another parting shot at Chelsea Manager, Jose Mourinho. The message isn’t really different from the previous one, the four-time African Player of the Year has just decided to change the superlative.
“Contrary to what a puppet says about my age, I am still physically fit. At 33, I feel really good. I have proven that I can do better than the younger players. And I wish to also say that I am not going to the United States or to the Middle East. I will continue at the top level. I will continue to play the Champions League.
The ex-Inter Milan player continued, “My romance with this competition is far from over. I will not tell you where, but I will be at the top level. I am 33 and I have two World Cups to play. There are other players who went on until the age of 41 so there is no reason why I cannot continue.”

Samuel Eto'o blasts Jose Mourinho, calls him a fool.

Apparently Samuel Eto’o didn’t get over the unguarded “age” comment targetted at him by Jose Mourinho few months back. I promised not to write about the Chelsea boss in the next few months, but how can you stop talking about a person who has “rented a space” in the spotlight.

The 33-year-old during a short interview with africanfootball.com labelled his coach a fool and NO it didn’t sound like a slip of the tongue.

“Today, I am 33 years old. And it is not because a fool called me an old man that you must believe it. And you may have noticed that the old man was better than the youngsters. Some believe I am going to retire in the United States or in the Middle East, but I have regained the joy of the Champions League and I am going to carry on playing in the Champions League.

He continued, “Where? I am not going to tell you. But I am going to carry on playing because physically and mentally I feel great. So I am going to go to this World Cup and to the next one when I will be 37. Some did it at 42, so I can still play in two more World Cups.”

With that said, you can be sure that the days of the Cameroonian who scored 12 goals at Stamford Bridge this season are numbered. This drama will be incomplete without a Special response from the Special One. But can someone hint him of the latest development?

Trophy drought: Spanish paper gives Jose Mourinho a new nickname.

That Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho is being loathed by spanish media is like saying tap water is colourless. And his failure to win a silverware this season has been mocked by writers of spanish paper, El Confidencial. Excerpts from one of their current write-ups

“Since leaving Porto, Mourinho has won as a result of the huge financial backing of transfers – in his first stint at Chelsea, then Inter Milan and Real Madrid. He is a good coach when the chips are down, and he gave himself the nickname ‘The Special One’. After his two seasons without a trophy, now they should start calling him ‘The Special Zero’.”

Didier Drogba could return to Chelsea as a player-coach

I got this from only one football source; metro.co.uk. But if this is really true, Didier Drogba’s return to Stamford Bridge would be one of the best things that has ever happened to Chelsea fans. The reason isn’t far-fetched. He’s revered in Chelsea till date.
According to Metro Sports, Drogba, whose contract in his current club, Galatasaray expires in June 2014 could return to his former club, Chelsea FC as a player-coach. Jose Mourinho is reportedly ready to offer the Ivorian a one year playing contract as a player and three-year coaching deal.

Mourinho quoted calling Real Madrid stars sons of bitches, the most treacherous squad in new book.

A new book quotes self-acclaimed Special One, Jose Mourinho calling Real Madrid stars ‘sons of bitches’ before a clasico match in 2011. A year after the Portuguese joined the Spanish club in 2010, he had already believed the players were teaming up against him and spilling his plans to their opponents. He reportedly asked directors to study the phone records of players and club employees.
The book written by sports journalist, Diego Torres is titled, ‘The Dark Side Of Jose Mourinho’. At the eve of Madrid’s Champions League semi-final clash with Barcelona in 2011, the Chelsea boss stormed the dressing room and accused them of leaking the line-up.
Excerpts from the book reads, ‘You’re traitors. I asked you not to speak with anyone about the team selection but you’ve betrayed me. It shows you’re not on my side. You’re sons of bitches. The only friend I have in this dressing room is Granero… and I’m not even sure I can trust him any more. You’ve left me all on my own. You’re the most treacherous squad I’ve had in my life. Nothing more than sons of bitches.’
Casillas reportedly walked out while he was speaking and went to the bathroom. The 53 year-old took a can of Red Bull, smashed it against the wall, knelt down, insulted them again, wiped tears off his face and told them he was going to speak with Real’s President and Director. Before he left, he said, “If I’m in Vietnam and I see you laugh at a mate, I’d grab a gun with my own hands and kill you. Now it’s you yourselves who have to look for the one that leaked the line-up.”

Arsenal Annihilation: Read Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger's post-match comments

The match between Chelsea FC and Arsenal FC which shockingly ended 6-0 few hours ago was Arsene Wenger’s 1,000th game in charge of the club. Sure most Arsenal fans had pictured a beautiful win to commemorate their Manager’s latest milestone in the club. But it turned out to be a disaster, a nightmare an embarrassing defeat on a day the whole Arsenal camp was supposed to be celebrating their iconic boss. The match unofficially ended at the 17th minute, after Chelsea had successfully netted in their 3rd goal. The rest they say is history.
Anyways, did anyone wonder why Jose Mourinho walked away at the 89th minute of the match? The general concensus is, he wanted to avoid a handshake with the Frenchman who he had been at loggerheads with of late (and all the time). But if you ask me, he probably went to have a good laugh somewhere. We know Mourinho, we know what he’s capable of doing.
Anyways, here are both coaches’ post-match comments.
 
 
No one else could blow Jose Mourinho’s trumpet better.
 
“We had 10 amazing minutes and with that you can win the game and show everybody that you won’t give a chance to any opponent. I was so happy with the approach, we came to kill and in 10 minutes we destroyed them. After that first 10 minutes, the job was easy. We pressed them high and well and attacked the space very quickly. We got the result with some numbers which are special for our fans, which makes it even more beautiful. ManCity have everything in their hands, Liverpool have everything in their hands. Nobody plays Champions League from the top four, they have just the Premier League matches to play and we have at least two big Champions League matches to play in between.”
Arsene Wenger on the other hand was devastated and he accepted “full responsibility for the defeat.
“This defeat is my fault, I take full responsibility for it. I don’t think there’s too much need to talk about the mistakes we made. We got a good hiding today. It’s how we respond now on Tuesday night against Swansea and the best way is not to explain too much the mistakes.Yes, of course it’s one of the worst days in my career. It’s over after 20 minutes and it’s a long game after that. You don’t prepare all week to experience that kind of experience.”
 
He also talked on the controversial handball incident that saw Kieran Gibbs mistakenly sent off and a penalty awarded to the Blues.
 
“I believe it was handball but the referee hasn’t seen it. The ball went out and I think it’s Chamberlain who touched the ball. I don’t know who gave indication to the referee that it was handball but he has certainly not seen it. Of course it’s a huge disappointment today but we want to win the next game now.”
