Nigerian students warn South African President to stay away from Buhari's inauguration.

Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has advised South African President, Jacob Zuma to stay away from the inauguration ceremony of General Muhammadu Buhari or face their wrath. This isn’t unrelated to his delayed response to the recent xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and other foreigners in the country. 
Their grouse ‎really is that Zuma failed to apologise to Nigerians like he did to Mozambique” and according to them, his presence at the ceremony will be an insult on Nigerians. The ‎association has also threatened to storm the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, should Zuma step into the country’s airport.‎ Serious Matter!
A statement by NANS President, Tijani Usman reads.
“We wish to advise the South African President (Jacob Zuma) to rather stay at home and address burning issues, rather than embarking on a visit that is the least desirable. The South African President’s failure to apologise to Nigeria for the losses the country and our citizens incurred during the xenophobic attacks on foreigners leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. There is therefore, no point felicitating with a people who clearly do not matter much to you. President Zuma’s visit will only amount to pretence.”

"Tattoo your HIV-positive status and get N.8m" says South Africa President

South Africa President, Jacob Zuma has signed a new bill which requires HIV positive South Africans to volunteer to be marked near their genital area with a tatoo depicting their status.

Over 6 million people in South Africa

are living with HIV and the rationale behind this new move is to curtail the further spread of the disease in the country.

According to sources, Zuma also promised to pay the first 10 million who comply an equivalent of N840, 000 (50 000 Rands) each.

After signing the bill, he said “The mark is to protect those who can’t say no to sex. I mean if you can’t read between the lines you should read between the legs because that’s where the status would be tatted. The choice to be HIV positive is now in your hands or your genitals for that matter….

We also encourage those who had been living with the virus to go to the nearest public hospitals to get their status tatted in,”Let there be no more shame, no more blame, no more discrimination and no more stigm. Let the politicisation and endless debates about HIV and AIDS stop,” Zuma affirmed.

Xenophobic attacks: South African President to meet with foreign nationals.

President Jacob Zuma of South Africa will on Friday meet with foreign nationals affected by xenophobic attacks in the country.  
Below is a statement issued by the South African Presidency.

“President Zuma will meet with organisations representing foreign nationals. President Jacob Zuma will on Friday, meet with leaders of organisations representing foreign nationals resident in the country at the Sefako Makgatho Presidential Guest House in Pretoria.

“The President will meet with leaders representing foreign nationals from within Africa and also Pakistan and Bangladesh. 


The meeting is part of building lasting partnerships with stakeholders in the country to ensure that the shameful attacks on foreign nationals do not recur in the country. 

Foreign nationals have for years been successfully integrated into many communities in the country and government thus seeks to gain lessons from these successes.”

NELSON MANDELA'S IMAGE TO APPEAR ON SOUTH AFRICAN BANK NOTES

In a move to honour the first black President of South Africa, Nelson Mandela for his role in the fight against apartheid in South Africa, incumbent South African President, Jacob Zuma has announced that all South African bank notes by end of the year will carry the image of the ex President.
In his announcement which also coincides with the 22nd anniversary of the release of the Nobel Laureate from prison, Zuma said that, “It is a befitting tribute to a man who became a symbol of this country’s struggle for freedom, human rights and democracy”.
“With this humble gesture, we are expressing our deep gratitude as the South African people, to a life spent in service of the people of this country and in the cause of humanity worldwide.”
