Warri Wolves forward, Gbolahan Salami has become the first recipient of the maiden Rashidi Yekini Highest Goal Scorer Award. He was honoured by the Rasidi Yekini Foundation in Ibadan today for emerging the top scorer of of the Nigeria Professional Football Leaugue with his club this season.
“Thanks so much all my fans, thanks to the Rashidi Yekini foundation for this award, thanks to all Warri Wolves players and fans that made it possible. It’s an honour to win this award for the fans.” The Nigerian player said.
The ex Shooting Star forward who netted 17 goals also got a cash prize of N100,000 and the last pair of boots used by the late Rashidi Yekini. The late iconic footballer remains all-time highest goal scorer for Nigeria Senior National Team.
