Falconets Secure World Cup Ticket!

Nigeria’s U-20 women’s team, The Falconets have secured the 2016 FIFA U-20 World Cup ticket! They defeated South Africa 3-1 on Aggregate to qualify for the Women’s World Cup. Nigeria has never failed to qualify for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup since its launch in Canada in 2012.

Falconets crush Liberia, advance to the next stage

The falconets have advanced to the next stage of the 2016 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers after subjecting Liberia to an humiliating 14-1 two-leg defeat. Peter Dedevbo’s led team completed the onslaught in Abuja on Saturday by handing Liberia another 7-0 whitewash after having secured a first leg 7-1 victory.
Goals from Chinaza Uchendu, Amarachi Orjinma, Aminat Yakubu, Yetunde Adeboyejo and Joy Bokiri gave the falconets an easy victory. They now await the winner of the game between Namibia and DR Congo to know their next opponent in the third round of the qualifiers. 

Liberia U20 Women to arrive Nigeria on Friday

Liberia U20 Women are expected to arrive the country tomorrow ahead of the second leg qualifier with the falconets.
The second leg of the second round qualifier is scheduled to take place on Saturday at the Abuja national stadium and the Liberians will look to overturn a 7-1 deficit.
The falconets came out comfortable winners of the first leg in Liberia 7-1 with goals from Yetunde Adeboyejo, Amarachi Orjinma, Chiwendu Ihezuo and Juliet Sunday.
The winner of the fixture will proceed to the third round of qualifiers, to play the winner of the Namibia/DR Congo fixture for a place at the 2016 Fifa U20 Women’s World Cup billed for Papua New Guinea.

Falconet Hammers Liberia 7-1 Monrovia

The falconets took a step closer to the 2016 FIFA U20 women’s world Cup as they took apart their Liberian opponent 7-1 in the second round first leg qualifier played in Monrovia.
Goals from Yetunde Adeboyejo, Amarachi Orijinma and Chiwendu Ihezuo gave the falconets an easy win to the frustration of their opponents. The falconets will head into the second leg slated for two weeks comfortable following the impressive victory.
The winner of the tie will face the winner of Namibia/DR Congo fixture for a slot in the 2016 FIFA U20 women’s world Cup. The tournament is scheduled to take place in Papua New Guinea.
