Case Settled! Chelsea apologise to Eva Carneiro

Former Chelsea doctor, Eva Carneiro has settled constructive dismissal claim against Jose Mourinho as Chelsea apologise unreservedly. The British doctor who reportedly 
rejected a £1.2m settlement from the club was relieved of her duties as the first-team doctor following ex Chelsea manager Mourinho’s disagreement with her decision to run onto the pitch to treat Eden Hazard towards the end of the game.

Jose Mourinho’s presence at the court  believed to have helped secure the settlement. Chelsea have now released a statement apologising to Carneiro. 

The statement read: “Chelsea Football Club is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement with Dr Carneiro which brings her employment tribunal proceedings against the club and Jose Mourinho to an end.”
“The club regrets the circumstances which led to Dr Carneiro leaving the club and apologises unreservedly to her and her family for the distress caused.”
“We wish to place on record that in running onto the pitch Dr Carneiro was following both the rules of the game and fulfilling her responsibility to the players as a doctor, putting their safety first.”
“Dr Carneiro has always put the interests of the club’s players first. Dr Carneiro is a highly competent and professional sports doctor. She was a valued member of the club’s medical team and we wish her every success in her future career.
“Jose Mourinho also thanks Dr Carneiro for the excellent and dedicated support she provided as First Team Doctor and he wishes her a successful career.”

Ex Chelsea Doctor, Eva Carneiro turns down £1.2m settlement from the club

The last hasn’t been heard of the case between former Chelsea first team doctor, Eva Carneiro, Chelsea and Jose Mourinho. Recall that the issue started when Mourinho faulted the doctor’s treatment of Eden Hazard during a home game last season and went ahead and called her impulsive and naive. 

The latest development is that the medical professional rejected a £1.2m settlement from the club in constructive dismissal case, according to documents submitted to her employment tribunal.
Albeit Mourinho wasn’t present at the hearing, he admitted to using the Portuguese word “filho da puta”, which means “son of of a b***h or whore”, towards Carneiro but said they had no sexist connotations.  ‘Cesc and I both speak English well, but in the heat of the game we both swear in our mother language. Eva was not on the pitch at that point in time.’ Mourinho added.
Part of Dr Caneiro’s legal argument reads, ‘This is a tale of two employees: one good (the claimant) and one bad (Mourinho). 
‘The bad employee forces the good employee out of the job of her dreams and the employer does nothing to stop it. 
‘The bad employee berates, sexually harasses and demotes the good employee for carrying out her professional duties, namely her health and safety duties as the first team doctor, pitch side. 
‘Rather then investigating and disciplining the bad employee, the employer allows the bad employee to confirm the demotion, both publicly and privately and to continue with his job. 
‘By comparison, the good employee’s demotion is confirmed and she is instructed to work and to ‘build bridges’ with the bad employee.’
The tribunal will begin hearing evidence from the 42-year-old doctor on Tuesday afternoon.

doctor, Eva Carneiro, has quit football. The physician who got married recently will return to work in a Gibraltar
medical clinic where she will advise on managing and preventing injuries,
sports and exercise nutrition, supplementation and performance enhancement.

business consultant, Jason De Carteret on Wednesday No Chelsea player attended
the wedding of the sports physician which took place in London. Former Chelsea goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer, who now
plays for Leicester City, was in attendance

The Gibraltar-born is
suing Chelsea and team manager Jose Mourinho for constructive dismissal, and
there are reports that Eden Hazard will be called as one of her star witnesses in
the case next year.

Ex Chelsea Doctor, Eva Carneiro takes legal action against Jose Mourinho

Weeks after Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was cleared by the Football Association of using discriminatory language towards Chelsea’s former team doctor, Eva Carneiro, there are reports that  Eva is taking legal actions against the embattled Blues coach .The 42-year-old was publicly criticized by the Portugues for treating Eden Hazard during the 2-2 draw with Swansea City on the opening day of the season. Mourinho had claimed that Carneiro didn’t understand the game. His outburst, Eva had claimed was contributed to her being stripped of match-day duties. 
Sky Sports News learnt that  will take legal action against Mourinho, and legal papers will be served on the Portugese coach this week as part of separate but connected claims against him and against the club. Mourinho will have to appear in person at an employment tribunal unless the case is settled out of court in advance.

FA clear Mourinho on Eva Carneiro incident

The Football Association have cleared Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho  of wrongdoing after he was accused of using abusive language towards the club’s former doctor, Eva Carneiro  during the match involving The Blues and Swansea City ‎in August.
The FA in its verdict said it “is satisfied that the words used do not constitute discriminatory language under FA Rules”.

over the treatment of former Chelsea team doctor, Eva Carneiro at the English
club. Eva quit the club this week one and a half months after her bust-up with Chelsea boss, Mourinho

“The FMA is extremely disappointed
that Dr Eva Carneiro will not be resuming her full duties as first team doctor
at Chelsea Football Club. As the representative body for medicine and science
personnel in the professional game, the FMA aims to protect the rights of its
members.
“Having recently been contacted by
Eva, we have offered our full support in attempting to negotiate a satisfactory
outcome. Unfortunately this has not resulted in our preferred outcome. Chelsea
considers this now to be an internal matter and it is for Chelsea and Eva’s
appointed lawyers to discuss any further action.”

FA board member, Heather Rabbatts has described the medical professional
as a role model who to women/girls who aspire to work in football.
“Eva was one of the few very senior
women in the game, a highly respected doctor who has acted with professional
integrity in difficult circumstances and whose skills have been highly praised
by her colleagues, the club and governing bodies.
“On the 8th August
Eva fulfilled her duty as the senior medic and responded to the referee to
enter the field of play to treat a player.‎ Any other response would have been
a dereliction of her duty and a breach of GMC guidelines as confirmed recently
by the organisation of Premier League doctors.
“In acting properly she was then
subject to verbal abuse and public criticism and in effect demoted by her
removal from the bench. Her departure raises a serious question on how players
are safeguarded if their medical support is compromised.
“In addition, as Chair of the Inclusion Advisory Board, I have a responsibility to support women in the game and Eva has been a role model for many girls and women who aspire to work in football.

“Her treatment sends all the wrong messages.”

Chelsea team doctor, Eva Carneiro quits Stamford Bridge.

‎Chelsea team doctor, Eva Carneiro has parted ways with the club following her row with The Blues manager, Jose Mourinho 6 weeks ago. Recall that The Portuguese criticised Eva and head physio Jon Fearn after they ran over nto the pitch to treat midfielder Eden Hazard during the 2-2 draw with Swansea on 8 August.‎
Mourinho claimed they didn’t understand the game.

“I was unhappy with my medical staff. They were impulsive and naive. Whether you are a kit man, doctor or secretary on the bench you have to understand the game.

“You have to know you have one player less and to assist a player you must be sure he has a serious problem. I was sure Eden did not have a serious problem. He had a knock. He was tired.‎” Mourinho told Sky Sports in a post-match interview.

After the incident, Eva was relieved of her touchline duties and was no longer allowed to attend matches or training sessions.‎ 
A‎ month and a half after, last Friday to be precise, the 42 year-old was invited back to work but she refused to show up. She’s left the Stamford Bridge and is reportedly pursuing legal actions against the English club.

Chelsea doctors Carneiro, Fearn to be absent Vs Man City – Mourinho

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that club doctor Eva Carneiro and first-team physiotherapist Jon Fearn will not be on the bench for Sunday’s Premier League clash against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.The Chelsea boss was angry that Carneiro and Fearn rushed onto the pitch in stoppage time of Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Swansea to treat Eden Hazard, meaning he had to leave the field as they had a free kick in a dangerous position in search of a last-ditch winner.
Carneiro herself appeared to reference the incident in a Facebook post on Sunday, stating: “I would like to thank the general public for their overwhelming support. Really very much appreciated.”

Carneiro and Fearn will officially continue with the same job titles but will only work out of Chelsea’s Cobham training complex, and will not travel with the squad to games or elsewhere. However, Mourinho said that change will not necessarily be permanent.

Mourinho said in an opening statement at his pre-match news conference on Friday: “Look, I hope this room is full because the champions will be playing against the former champion, because we have hopefully a big match on Sunday.

“But I knew it already. It is not a surprise. No question. I don’t want to run away from it. I accept the question, and understand. “First of all, I want to say I have a fantastic medical [team] led by Dr Paco Biosca, more than a dozen professionals, have a very good relation with them and as they tell me all the time, they were never praised so much as in last few years.

“I have praised them many times these last couple of years and they don’t forget that, I don’t forget that. And as they also told me yesterday, we have disagreements during this period, we need disagreements to improve. We work together, we’ll improve together and that’s the way we do things. And this I want to make it very, very clear. “Your question about the bench, I have to say that for some people the bench is very important, and I understand for you it is also very important. But for other people it is not important. For other people the most important thing is not what other people think you do, it is what you do. And the bench is my responsibility, yes. And when you ask me, obviously it is my decision, it is nobody else’s decision.


“Jon Fearn and Dr Caneiro, they will not be on the bench. But it doesn’t mean that Sunday is the rest of our season, or the rest of our careers. They will not be on the bench on Sunday, that is clear, it is my decision, it is my responsibility. But that doesn’t mean that they can’t be in the future. If you want to speak with me about football, I’m here. But if you want to speak about other issues, I am not here.”

Mourinho’s decision has been criticised this week from several quarters, including the Premier League Doctors’ Group and FIFA’s chief medical officer, but has also received backing from Chelsea’s former club doctor, Ralph Rogers.
