List of players left out of Euro 2016

A number of incredible talents have been left out of the Euro 2016  tournament, owing to injuries or fitness concerns, some didn’t get regular playing chances at their respective clubs, others are fit and in sparkling forms but were omitted for reasons best known to their managers. Switzerland unveil provisional squad for Euro 2016


Switzerland today unveiled its provisional squad for the Euro 2016 tournament. And there were a not-so shocking omissions. Leicester City midfielder, Gokhan Inler has been left out for failing to impress for the foxes this season.


“I’m very, very sorry for Gokhan. He is a great player and a great
character,” said Petkovic. But I have to remain consistent in my acting
and thinking.”

“Competitive rhythm is one of the most important considerations for a squad in such an important tournament.” Swiss coach Vladimir Petkovic said.

Juan Mata, Torres, Diego Costa left out of Spain's provisional Euro 2016 squad.


Manchester United’s Juan Mata, Chelsea’s Diego Costa and Atletico Madrid player, Fernando Torres are the big names missing from Spain manager, Vincent Del Bosque’s 25-man provisional Euro 2016 squad because of injuries. 
Even some of his regular starters will be absent for the initial preparations as some of the players are still busy at their respective clubs. For example Barcelona will take on Sevilla at the Copa del Rey final on Sunday, and Atletico and Real Madrid will be in the Champions League final on May 28 in Milan. 
“It affects us a bit because we won’t be able to have everybody with us until six days before the competition begins,” Del Bosque added.

These new football rules would be introduced ahead of Euro 2016

The International Football Association Board are introducing a new set of rules ahead of Euro 2016 tournament. Read them below.
– Players can receive medical treatment without leaving the pitch if the foul committed on them earns a card.
– Free-kicks for offside are taken from where the offence takes place rather than from where the player was flagged for offside.
– Players no longer need to wait for a break in play to return to the pitch after changing their equipment.
– Interference from personnel not involved in the match (i.e. substitutes or staff) is punishable by a direct free-kick rather than an indirect one.
– The referee can take disciplinary action from warm-up rather instead of when the teams first walk out to begin the match.
– Kick-offs don’t have to go forwards over the line – they can be passed backwards.
– Changes to penalties – such as the kick is not over until the ball stops moving. In the Moroccan Cup final a goalkeeper saved a penalty and ran off to celebrate but the ball spun back into his net.

Euro 2016: England unveil home and away kits

Confirmed: Englands brand new home & away kits for Euro 2016
  • England have unveiled their brand new home and away kits for Euro 2016 tournament in France. The Home kit consists of a white shirt with light blue sleeves, white shorts and red socks while the Away kit is a red shirt with crimson sleeves, red shorts and bright blue socks. 
    • Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling, Man United’s Wayne Rooney and Tottenham’s Harry Kane all pictured parading the new Nike strips .
    “England have had great moments in red over the years. Our design team have risen to the challenge of integrating references to England’s footballing history with a futuristic system of performance apparel in both the home and away kits.” Nike creative director Martin Lotti said.

    Karim Benzema cleared to play in #EURO2016

    French football star, Kareem Benzema who has been embroiled in a legal battle over a sextape scandal has been cleared to play in the forthcoming EURO 2016 tournament.  
    The French Football Federation acknowledged the decision in a brief statement. “The French Football Federation takes note of the lifting of restrictions on Karim Benzema. It is a first stage. The FFF has also been recognized as a civil party and can therefore learn of all developments in the case as they happen.”
    Lawyers of the 28 year-old also stated that they are working hard to establish his innocence.

    EURO 2016: Group stages ball unveiled by Zinedine Zidane

    Former Real Madrid coach, Zinedine Zidane has unveiled the
    Beau- (meaning the beautiful game) the group stages ball to be used at the EURO
    2016 tournament. The ex France international will be playing with the ball on
    the five-a-side pitch at the Future Arena in Saint Denis, Paris today. 

    Featuring colours of the French flag – White, Blue and Red, the ball which was created
    by adidas, will be available for
    sale from tomorrow. It will ball will be presented to competing countries by
    end of November.
