Emmanuel Amuneke named new coach of the flying Eagles

Ex Nigeria international, Emmanuel Amuneke has been appointed the new manager of the Flying Eagles of Nigeria. He takes over from Manu Garba who had a poor outing at the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup. This is a promotion and reward for Amuneke who steered the Golden Eaglets to victory at the 5th FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile. 
Manu Garba will now take the reins as coach of the Under-17s. Recall that Amuneke was an assistant to Garba when the latter won the 2013 U-17 World Cup in UAE.

Emmanuel Amuneke no longer interested in working with the Golden Eaglets.

Leaving when the ovation is loudest? ex Nigeria international, Emmanuel Amuneke is considering quitting his role as Golden Eaglets coach. The former Nigerian player is thought to be keen on a fresh challenge few weeks after leading the team to 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup victory in Chile.
He told Nigeria Info FM:
“I have been in this category for years and to be honest I am not interested in continuing with the under-17s.
“We have to be honest with ourselves.
“One has to move forward and I am looking forward to the next challenge.
“We will see what the future brings.” The Nigeria U-17 team coach revealed.

Golden Eaglets manager,
Emmanuel Amuneke has said that FIFA’s decision to strip Kelechi Nwakali of the
bronze boot award given to him at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile should
be respected. The world governing body in a letter addressed to the NFF yesterday admitted erroneously awarding the no 10. player the golden boot instead of his teammate Samuel Chukwueze at the closing ceremony of the FIFA U-17 World Cup in
Chile.
“We have to
respect FIFA’s decision but I must let you know that our priority in Chile was
to win the trophy and I want to thank God that against all odds, we were able
to achieve that and anything after that is not really seen as a big deal. Since
they have admitted that it was a mistake, we have to leave it like that while
the two players concentrate on their career.
“I am sure they
still have a lot to achieve in life and I can only pray that the Almighty God
see them through.” The ex Nigerian player

Forget it! Once a footballer, always a footballer. What were Nollywood stars thinking? That they could beat the African legends? Try harder! Albeit they hung their boots a long time ago, they are still effective.
An awareness campaign match hosted by the Human Rights Commission and aimed at promoting human and civil rights of individuals was held yesterday, Friday 28th March, 2014 at Abuja. The game which was between Nollywood stars and retired Super Eagles player ended in 4-0 in favour of the African legends.
Ex footballers who participated in the match include National team coach, Stephen Keshi; Taribo West, Peter Rufai, Austin Jay Jay Okocha, Mutiu Adepoju, Emmanuel Amunike, Austin Eguavoen, Daniel Amokachi, Alloy Agu to mention a few. Nollywood stars Emeka Enyiocha, Okey Bakassi, AY, Zaaki Adzee, M.I, Moses Inwang to mention a few.
