Former Director General of the NAFDAC (National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control) Professor Dora Akunyili, is dead. The ex minister of Information who was flown to India few weeks ago where she had been receiving treatment for an ailment suspected to be cancer died today 7 June 2014. She died at the age of 59.

Few months back, she turned up at CONFAB meeting looking frail and unrecognizable. Sad, she’s no more. Life is indeed full of ironies. She fought to get rid of harmful and fake drugs that kill, she passed on fighting an ailment no drug can really cure.

May her soul find repose. Amen
