Real Madrid have issued a statement in the wake of tax evasion allegations levelled against Cristiano Ronaldo. A German newspaper, Der Spiegel had claimed that leaked documents show that the Portuguese may have ‘hidden 150 million euros in tax havens in Switzerland and the British Virgin Islands’.
Shortly after the accusations were made, Jorge Mendes’ agency, Gestifute, who represent Ronaldo, released a statement along with a letter from the Spanish tax authority ‘confirming that Cristiano Ronaldo is up to date on his obligations’.
Real Madrid have also reacted to the allegations, “In view of the stories published over recent days and in consideration of the certificate issued by the Spanish Tax Agency which confirms that our player Cristiano Ronaldo is up to date with all of his tax obligations, Real Madrid C. F. call for the utmost respect to be shown towards Cristiano Ronaldo, whose conduct has been absolutely exemplary throughout all of his time at our club.

The Portuguese signed a new Real Madrid contract worth £19m-a-year, a whooping new Nike life-time deal worth £21m-a-year and he’s just picked the #Goal50 prize for best player in the world for 2015/16 season. He dethroned arch rival, Lionel Messi to win the prize.
From firing home the penalty that handed his side the 2015/2016 UEFA Champions league trophy to inspiring Portugal to Euro 2016 glory, the Real Madrid star has enjoyed a wonderful 2015/2016 campaign and is in a pole position to win the next FIFA Ballon d’Or award.

Real Madrid footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo has reunited with David Pawlaczyk; a polish boy he helped bring out of coma three years ago. The 15 year-old slipped into coma after being knocked off his bicycle by a car in August 2013 and interestingly, a radio commentary of the Portuguese’s hat-trick for Portugal against Sweden in the World Cup play-offs back in November was the stimulus that saw the lad come out of the situation.
A die-hard fan of the Portuguese, David came round shortly after the clip was played. The pair met in 2014 after Real Madrid’s Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund.
They met again this week in Warsaw as Madrid prepared to face the Polish side Legia in the Champions League. He signed autographs and posed for pictures with the boy and his family members.

Cristiano Ronaldo is planning big for his post-football life.
The Bernabeu star has unveiled his second hotel in Portugal called ‘Pestana CR7 Lisboa’. This good news is coming few days after his private jet crashed land at Barcelona airport.
Speaking at the launch, the Madrid forward revealed the impressive new venture is one of his post-football retirement plans. ”Life is not just about football. Although football is my grand passion, I must start to think about the future. I don’t have many years left, about 10 more or less, so I must look to the future. When I was young I had the dream of having my own hotel. Now I have two, and I am proud it is in Lisbon. I couldn’t not have a hotel in Lisbon, a city which is part of my history as I have played here.”

Ronaldo, Bale ruled out of Espanyol clash
The duo of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale will miss the Los Blancos clash with Espanyol in Catalonia on Sunday, coach Zinedine Zidane has confirmed. While Ronaldo has a sore throat, Bale is suffering from a hip problem.
