Chelsea FC warns fans ahead of League Cup final

Chelsea Football Club has issued a strong note of warning to its supporters about anti-semitic abuse ahead of the League Cup final which comes up on Sunday.
This is coming a week after 3 of their fans were caught pushing a black man off a Paris Metro train before the UEFA Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain and also allegedly chanted racist songs at London St Pancras station after the game in Paris last Tuesday.
A statement on the club’s official website reads:

“After consultation between the Metropolitan Police and both clubs, we would like to remind supporters of their responsibilities on the day. For a small minority, this game has historically brought a deeply unpleasant and unwanted level of anti-Semitic abuse, which has no place in football or anywhere in society. As such, we urge everyone to keep their support positive.

“Opposition supporters using terms as a form of identity is no excuse for abusive chanting or behaviour. The club asks that all supporters realise such actions cause huge offence to those around them.
“If we receive evidence that supporters have engaged in anti-Semitic or any other form of discriminatory chanting or behaviour, we will take the strongest possible action, including supporting criminal prosecution.
“Recent events in Paris have seen Chelsea fans united in their contempt for a mindless few. Chelsea is proud of the diversity within our club and our vision embraces equality regardless of race, gender, sexuality, disability or religion.We all share the common cause of supporting our team.”‎

The fan who attended the Man city/Newcastle game was spotted at the stands holding a banner with a message to the racist victim.
‎”Jail the racist thugs. They are not football fans. So sorry Souleymane. It could have been me.”

Chelsea racist victim declines Mourinho's invitation to Stamford Bridge.

Souleymane S, the man who was racially abused by 3 Chelsea supporters who denied him entry into a train in Paris last Thursday has declined Jose Mourinho’s invitation to see the second leg of the match at Stamford Bridge on March 11.
Probably still hurt by the ugly incident,  Souleymane said, ‘I appreciate Mr Mourinho’s invitation, but I can’t get my head around being in a stadium at the moment.’

Lionel Messi finally addresses Barca-Chelsea move

Waiting for Lionel Messi’s side of the Barcelona-Chelsea story for the past few days was a bit torturous. The talisman has branded rumours of his move to Premier League clubs, Chelsea or Manchester City as lies.
The rumours of his exit from the Catalan club were fuelled after he followed Chelsea and their players Thibaut Courtois and Filipe Luis on twitter about a week ago.
The Argentine set the records straight  on Barca TV.
“I don’t intend to leave, not to Chelsea, not to Manchester
City. Everything they say is lies and I want everyone to know,
that everything that’s been said is false”, Messi affirmed.

‎The ‎27 year-old player who is presently at Zurich for the 2014 Ballon d’Or awards last night received an award for being top-scorer in La Liga.

Chelsea's Oscar signs new contract.

Chelsea forward, Oscar has penned a new 5 year-deal at the Stamford Bridge.‎ The 23 year-old who joined the Blues from Internacional in 2012 ‎ spoke of his commitment to the Chelsea on the club’s official website.

“I am so happy because I love playing for Chelsea and living in England, I have enjoyed playing here for two years, and now I have five more, so I am very happy.” The Brazilian said.

Goal celebration: Robin Van Persie replies Louis Van Gaal

Manchester United star, ‎Robin Van Persie has reacted to a statement made by his boss, Louis Van Gaal as regards his late equalizer celebration during the Red Devils’ clash with Chelsea on Sunday.

Earlier this week, Manchester United boss labelled the 31-year-old’s reaction after netting the goal, stupid and not so smart.

“You have seen he did a stupid reaction after the goal. You can be excited, but you don’t have to pull of your shirt as you know it is a yellow card. It is not so smart.”

RVP admitted that he was so carried away with the goal that he forgot about the rules.
“I know it’s one of the rules that you have to keep your shirt on, but sometimes you forget and everything comes together and the whole place explodes.
“It was one of those fantastic moments and the main thing is that we got something out of this game because we deserved it.
“It was a big relief for the fans, for the players and for everyone at Manchester United that we got the goal in the end. The whole stadium exploded and it gave us a big boost.”

Cesc Fabregas' message for Arsenal fans after the Gunners' loss at Stamford Bridge


Shortly after Chelsea defeated his former club, Arsenal 2-0, Cesc Fabregas during a post-match interview affirmed that albeit he’s in a fantastic club right now, he still holds Arsenal and it’s fans in high esteem.





“I have huge respect for Arsenal – they gave me everything when I was little. Without them I wouldn’t be here and I wouldn’t have won what I have won. I have huge respect and I take it in a positive way. I know they love me and it is all because we were together once.

Sometimes, circumstances mean these things can happen. But I have always said it – I am not scared. They will always be in my heart forever. But this is football, I am in this fantastic football club now playing with great players, a great coach and great fans and I want to win everything. I am hungry and really want to do well for this club. I hope I can make it in the future.”

Ugandan footballer dies after Frank Lampard equalised against Chelsea on saturday.

He was a passionate Chelsea fan who would do anything for his club asides gambling. He was at a local makeshift video hall in Bombo Town, Uganda enjoying every bit of the English Premier league game between Manchester City and Chelsea last weekend until the moment Frank Lampard equalized. Fahad Musana fainted and succumbed to death before he got to the nearby hospital. The 24 year-old was a footballer who played as a central defender in his club side, Simba.

Musana’s coach Fred Kajoba said he’s yet to recover from the shock as he trained with the team on Sunday morning. “We trained with him at Bombo and there was no problem with him whatsoever, I’m still in shock.” He added.

Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) also released a statement on their website.

“FUFA is in shock after receiving news about the sudden death of Simba FC player Musana Fahad in Bombo this evening. The body is currently at the Bombo Barracks Hospital. Burial arrangements will be communicated later.”

Samuel Eto'o has some good words for Mourinho

You can never understand Eto’o. One minute he’s ballistic the other minute he’s something else. Months after he labelled his former boss, Jose Mourinho a “fool” and a “puppet” for making comments regarding his age, the newly-signed Everton striker has thanked the Portuguese Manager for integrating him into the Premier League.
The Cameroonian international told reporters, “The only thing I have to say about Jose Mourinho is to thank him. It’s down to him that I had the opportunity to be accepted and integrated into the Premier League and I want to thank him for that. I’m not particularly concerned that it’s against my [old] team [on Saturday]. The important thing is to integrate into my new team-mates’ way of playing and get ready for that match. If I don’t feature it’s just important to get ready.”

Nigeria's Victor Moses emotional about Chelsea exit

Nigerian winger, Victor Moses admits it was difficult leaving Chelsea again for another club. Apparently his heart is still with the Blues. The 23-year-old who recently joined Stoke City on a season-long loan wrote an emotional message on his twitter page.

“Hi everyone. I’m delighted to have joined Stoke City on loan. It was hard to leave Chelsea again but working with a progressive manager like Mark Hughes at Stoke is the perfect opportunity for me. Thanks for all of your support.”
