Loic Remy targets more playing time and goals

Chelsea striker, Loic Remy has set sight on assuming a more significant role at the club by playing more regularly and scoring more goals in the forthcoming season.
Remy, who scored seven Premier League goals in 2014-15, told Sky Sports News HQ: “I want to bring everything I can to the team and I just want to do more as I think this season will be more difficult than the previous one.
“So, all the players must be better than last season and I just want to be better, play more and score more.”
The 28yr old was signed from Queens Park Rangers last summer but found consistent playing time hard to come by, with Diego Costa preferred by manager Jose Mourinho as the side’s lone striker.
Remy made six top-flight starts during the campaign and in 2015-16 he faces increased competition following the addition of Radamel Falcao on loan from Monaco this summer.

"Things changed and I was no longer the first-choice keeper." Petr Cech writes goodbye note to Chelsea fans.

Newly signed Arsenal goalkeeper, Petr Cech has thanked fans of his former club, Chelsea FC for their amazing support through his 11 credible years. Warming the bench for a major part of last season was one of the things that propelled him to leave the club and now he gets a regular playing time.
The Czech international, who won 13 major trophies with The Blues  ended with 228 clean sheets from his 494 games has signed a four-year deal worth a basic £100,000 per week with Arsenal FC.‎

“I thought this would never happen. I but it is time for me to say goodbye to Chelsea Football Club: the club I have lived every single minute for since joining in July, 2014, the club in which I thought I’d hang my gloves and boots one day and finish my career. But life doesn’t always turn out the way you think it will.

“It has been an incredible journey with so many highs and not many lows. We have managed to win every single English trophy as well as the Europa League and the biggest of all – the Champions League. Looking back at all the achievements, including our first ever league double in 2010, back to back titles in 2005 and 2006, and multiple Premier League and FA Cup wins, I couldn’t be more proud. As a team, we made history together.

He revealed that “Last summer, things changed and I understood I was no longer the first-choice keeper, but I felt it was not the right time for me to go. During the season it became clear that my situation would not improve and, as I know I am not at the stage of my career where I want to be on the bench, I made my decision to move on and look for new challenges.”
“The limited playing time gave me the chance to refresh and rest mentally as well as made me realise just how much I enjoy playing football at the highest level, because I missed it badly every game day I was not involved. I have the same commitment to football, the same motivation and the same hunger for success as I had at the beginning of my career. 

I love the challenges brought by the top quality players you face while playing in the Premier League: simply the best and the most challenging league in the world. That’s why I spoke to Mr Abramovich about me staying in the Premier League, and I’d like to thank him from the bottom of my heart for his support in this matter.” The 33 year-old wrote.

Chelsea made the dream of a young fan of the club, Connor Ansell‎ who is down with Leukaemia come true by taking their EPL trophy to him on the hospital bed. The players who are currently on pre-season tour in Australia received an email asking if they could do anything to cheer the ailing fan up. 
JT took the silverware to him, gave him a Chelsea jersey and posed for photograph(s) with him. The smile on the lad’s face says it all.
“Today I had the pleasure to finally meet . Connor is fighting Leukaemia and Chelsea received an email before our trip to Australia asking if the club could do anything to cheer him up as Connor is a big Chelsea fan. We were halfway to him yesterday before training but traffic jams on our way forced us to turn around to make training on time, so after lunch today we made our way back to the hospital to see Connor along with the Premier League Trophy and put a BIG smile on his face. You are an inspiration my friend and keep fighting. JT @chelseafc #sydney” He wrote on instagram .

The legends keep leaving in droves. ‎Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba today bade farewell to Stamford Bridge after two spells at the club. The icing on the cake for the Ivorian was that ended his career at the club on a high note; a Premier League trophy.

He addressed Stamford Bridge after the presentation of the Premier League trophy. It’s a difficult moment for me. This one is really special because it’s going to be the last one as a player.

“I want to thank first of all Mr Abramovich, because people keep talking about the amount of money he put in this club but I think it’s a great investment looking on all the great years we’ve had and we’ve won everything.

“I want to say thank you also to Jose. You know how special he is for me. He gave me the chance to come back and the chance to come to this club.

“I want to say thank you to all my ex-team-mates, all the managers I played for under this shirt and a special thank you for this guy because without him and most of his assists there would not be the Didier Drogba celebration: Frank Lampard, thank you.”

Arsenal and Manchester United win joint award.

Neither Arsenal nor Manchester United will be claiming the EPL title this season but their quality of pitches have been adjudged the best by the Sports Turf Research Institute (STRI).
The Emirates Stadium and Old Trafford  high-quality pitches have won the Barclays Grounds Team of the Year 2014/2015 award.
The EPL Grounds Team of the Year is compiled using marks from match officials and match delegates and marks are given for specific aspects of pitch and management performance.

My spell in Chelsea was like swimming in wet clothes – Torres

Spanish international, Fernando Torres has likened his 4 years spell at Chelsea football club to swimming in wet clothes. El Nino has found his foot at Athletico Madrid ever since his sensational return this season.
The 30 year-old who netted a total of 20 goals in 119 appearances for The Blues revealed his frustrating moments at Stamford Bridge to Spanish newspaper El Pais:
“The doubts were understandable because people do not see the Premier League or the short time I was at Milan, they read the statistics, and they were not the same as always. The worst part about not playing is when you think that you are ready to do it. You try to get more minutes, taking the chances, but you end up in a situation where things have not gone well for weeks, or for years.
That is like swimming in wet clothes. I know how I am, and I am good. In the end these doubts disappear, but then others come again.”
He continued: “In the semi-final against Barcelona I scored a goal and in the final I came on with eight minutes remaining and I feel that I helped the team to overcome the result. I have good memories because winning the Champions was a dream since I was a kid when I used to go to see Atletico Madrid. Having won that Champions League (with Chelsea) makes me feel very proud.”

Jose Mourinho's son calls Chelsea fans a disgrace in instagram outburst.

Chelsea midfielder, Cesc Fabregas may have found a deep fan in his boss Jose Mourinho’s son after the latter defended his performance during The Blues 1-1 draw with Southampton on Sunday.

15 year-old Mario Jose, a goalkeeper at Fulham called Chelsea fans a ‘disgrace’ and the ‘worst he’s ever seen’ after they jeered at the Spanish international for being poor in the game.
He expressed his disgust on his Instagram page:
“Why is everyone hating and blaming Fabregas for Sunday’s performance… It was a team effort.

“Fabregas might have not played as well as most expected but at least he kept fighting… Showed a lot of character, I’ve seen bad Chelsea fans but Sunday was the worse I’ve ever seen, Fans booing Cesc not singing at all, I completely agree with the chant ‘Mourinho’s right, you’re fans are s****’

“Our fans are a disgrace!!!!” He wrote.

David Luiz apologises to Chelsea for celebrating his goal

Paris Saint-Germaine centre-half, David Luiz who prior to the game between Chelsea and his club vowed not to celebrate if he scores has apologised for breaking his promise.
The Brazilian netted an equaliser against former club Chelsea as the Blues crashed out of the Champions League following a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.

“It is amazing for everyone, amazing for Paris club, for Paris city. We did a great game, we tried to win the game. I am happy to be in the next round but we have a long way to go to win the Champions League. We have to keep our feet on the floor.

“My cycle finished in Chelsea, PSG gave me a great opportunity to continue my career. I was very happy at Chelsea. I respect everyone. Tonight was good for me to score. I said I wouldn’t celebrate but my emotions I couldn’t control. Thank you to Chelsea and sorry I celebrated because I was so emotional.” He said.

Chelsea's Capital One Cup win celebration in pictures

Chelsea beat Tottenham 2-0 on Sunday at Wembley to clinch the 2015 Capital One Cup. They ended their 2 year and coach Jose Mourinho’s 914 day trophy drought.

It’s the Portuguese first silverware in his second spell at the Stamford Bridge. Chelsea now have 14 trophies in 10 years. The Special One called his wife immediately after the game and then asked his players to celebrate for 20mins.
