For the second year, Chelsea Football Club have announced that John Terry will leave at the end of the season after 22 years at the club. The ex England international who made his debut in 1998 thanked the club, fans and teammates for their support over the years.
‘After 22 years there is so much to say and so many people to thank at this great football club. From coaches, team-mates and staff to the fans who have given me so much support down the years, I can’t thank you enough. There will be opportunities for me to speak further about this over the coming weeks.
‘I will decide on my future in due course, but for now I am committed to helping the team achieve success this season.
‘The club and I have always had a fantastic relationship, which will continue beyond my playing days. We had some really positive talks but with everything taken into careful consideration I have decided it’s the right time for me to leave. I’ve always been conscious that I depart at the right time, in the right way, and I feel that the end of this season is the right time for the club and I. I feel I still have plenty to offer on the pitch but understand that opportunities here at Chelsea will be limited for me. I’m eager to carry on playing and so will be looking to continue with a new challenge. I will of course always be a Blue and am desperate to end my final season as a Chelsea player with more silverware.
‘Finally, words cannot describe the love I have for our football club and our amazing Chelsea fans. I would like to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart for the unbelievable support you’ve shown me over the years. You mean the world to me and every trophy we’ve won during my time at the club we’ve won together. I will never forget the incredible journey we’ve been on. Thank you so much for everything.’
Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia said: ‘Everyone at Chelsea would like to place on record our thanks to John for all he has done for this football club. He has been an outstanding player, inspirational captain and has always demonstrated an exceptional commitment to the cause.
‘In that time, Chelsea has grown into one of the world’s top clubs and it is only right that John’s contribution is recognised. He will always be held in the highest regard by everybody at Stamford Bridge and we look forward to welcoming him back in the future.’
JThas scored 66 goals is the club’s third highest all-time appearance-maker and has captained Chelsea a record 578 times. He has won the Champions League, four Premier League titles, the Europa League, five FA Cups and three League Cups.
If Chelsea sack me, they sack the best manager they have had – Mourinho
The Blues’ strings of defeat this season, Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho is
confident his team would make it to the top 4 on the log. The Premier League
Champions recorded their 4th league defeat in 8 games today after losing 3-1 at
home to Southampton. Despite being 16th in the table, the Portuguese coach sees
his team bouncing to the top in the coming months.
year-old in a post-match interview today said there is no way he will resign adding that Chelsea cannot have a better manager.
Sky Sports, “I want to make it clear.
One, I don’t run away. Two, if the club want to sack me they have to sack
me because I am not running away from my responsibilities or my
team.” “To be champions now is very difficult because the
distance is considerable. But I am more than convinced that we will finish
in the top four and when the season is so bad if you finish in the top four it
is OK. Third – and I think this is even more important than the first and
the second – it is a crucial moment in the history of this club. You know
why? Because if they sack me they sack the best manager this club had. The
message is again that bad results and the manager is guilty.”
Mourinho says there is no way he will resign. He says Chelsea cannot have a
better manager so no chance he will run away. He added that he has his professional
pride and he loves the club very much, so the combination means he is going to
stay and he’ll stay until the owner or the board tells him they don’t want him
to. And he points out he said the same last season. The ex Real Madrid manager thinks
by December, January or February that the team will be back in the top four. He
also said he spoke to the players this week and they confirmed they think he is
the man for the job

DIDIER DROGBA REJECTS CONTRACT EXTENSION
33 year-old Chelsea striker, Didier Drogba has rejected a one-year contract extension in his Chelsea football club.
The Ivorian who joined the club in 2004 and whose contract expires next summer is setting his eyes in United State, Russia or Asia-based clubs.
According to his agent, Thierno Seydi "Didier has had the offer of a one-year extension from Chelsea. That does not suit us. We know what we want, where we want to go and what offers we have. AC Milan came in for Didier on loan with an option to buy but I said 'No' straight away. Their offer did not interest us. At Didier's age, he has nothing left to prove as a player. He will go where he is offered the most money. It could be the United States, Russia, Qatar or somewhere else in Asia. Once you are well into your thirties you have to go to a club where you can be certain you'll be able to pay your bills. LA Galaxy are a possibility among many others. He has been linked with Anzhi Makhachkala in Russia, as they pay well. But neither Didier nor I have had an offer from them." He explained.
