‘I would have been disappointed to see Luis Suarez go to Arsenal’- Steven Gerrard.

Steven Gerrard just made more enemies in Arsenal fans. The Liverpool captain reportedly told embattled Uruguayan striker, Luis Suarez that he was pleased with his decision to join Barcelona adding that an Arsenal move wouldn’t have been too good.

“His dream from the first day he came was to play for Real Madrid or Barcelona. Last summer when he was out in the cold and training on his own that’s the conversation I had with him. I said: ‘Don’t go to Arsenal. I would have been really sad and disappointed to see Luis go to Arsenal. With all due respect to them, I said to him that he was too good for Arsenal. I said if you score 30 goals for us and win the PFA player of the year, the press player of the year – I knew he was going to win them – I told him Real or Barcelona will come for you.”

He continued, “I’m disappointed to see him leave now but I am happy for him that’s he has got what he wants and deserves. Since day one he has been phenomenal in training every day and in the games. I think he got the wrong advice last year from people around him, from people saying he needed to play in the Champions League and it did not matter who it was for.

“I have experience of the Spanish clubs myself and I know if you play well they will come back and come back. I knew they’d be back for him as well. I just thought for his own sake, to get respect off the Liverpool fans, he had to give us at least one year. A lot of people might still think he should have given us one more, but my big dream was to play for Liverpool, and the foreign players’ big dream is to play for Real Madrid or Barcelona, that’s a fact.” He concluded.

David Moyes' Sack: Arsene Wenger condemns spate of sackings in England

Arsenal Manager, Arsene Wenger, in the wake of the David Moyes’ exit as Manchester United coach has voiced his concerns over the spate of sackings of coaches in England. The 64 year-old frenchman believes the quality of coaching is under threat because managers are not given enough time to develop and prove their worth.
“If you want quality people in any job, you need to give them time to develop and to become good, or people with the quality will not come into our job any more. The average (job life) expectancy of an English professional club at the moment is 11 months, and that is quite unstable. Every guy who is married, has a family, will have a big hesitancy before he goes into that game. That means the quality of the coaching and the quality of the managing is under threat.”

Former Arsenal player and Cristiano Ronaldo's childhood friend joins fighters waging war in Syria.

It is almost hard to believe a footballer can quit his career especially when age has not caught up with him and become a fighter. Well, he’s doing it for a cause. According to mirror.co.uk, Abu Issa Al-Andalusi, former Arsenal star who also grew up with Real madrid playmaker, Cristiano Ronaldo hung his boots two years ago and joined Jihadi fighters waging war in Syria.
He is filmed wearing a mask, wielding a gun in a video n AK47 and enjoining Muslims to join the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) – an al-Qaeda off-shoot group behind murders and beheadings. The ex Gunners footballer was quoted thus
“It’s very important for you to protect your children from these animals, from these dirty people; Allah says they are the worst of creatures. We are in need of all kinds of help in fighting the enemy. We have conquered many cities and we are now implementing the sharia. We have areas where the kaffirs (non-Muslims) are paying us the tax.”
He continued, “If you have family in these western countries what is going to happen probably. You don’t have control over your children. Maybe in some of countries it’s a must for you to put your children in the kaffir schools. Who is going to teach your children? It’s going to maybe be a gay, maybe a drug dealer, maybe a paedophile”.

Arsenal Annihilation: Read Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger's post-match comments

The match between Chelsea FC and Arsenal FC which shockingly ended 6-0 few hours ago was Arsene Wenger’s 1,000th game in charge of the club. Sure most Arsenal fans had pictured a beautiful win to commemorate their Manager’s latest milestone in the club. But it turned out to be a disaster, a nightmare an embarrassing defeat on a day the whole Arsenal camp was supposed to be celebrating their iconic boss. The match unofficially ended at the 17th minute, after Chelsea had successfully netted in their 3rd goal. The rest they say is history.
Anyways, did anyone wonder why Jose Mourinho walked away at the 89th minute of the match? The general concensus is, he wanted to avoid a handshake with the Frenchman who he had been at loggerheads with of late (and all the time). But if you ask me, he probably went to have a good laugh somewhere. We know Mourinho, we know what he’s capable of doing.
Anyways, here are both coaches’ post-match comments.
 
 
No one else could blow Jose Mourinho’s trumpet better.
 
“We had 10 amazing minutes and with that you can win the game and show everybody that you won’t give a chance to any opponent. I was so happy with the approach, we came to kill and in 10 minutes we destroyed them. After that first 10 minutes, the job was easy. We pressed them high and well and attacked the space very quickly. We got the result with some numbers which are special for our fans, which makes it even more beautiful. ManCity have everything in their hands, Liverpool have everything in their hands. Nobody plays Champions League from the top four, they have just the Premier League matches to play and we have at least two big Champions League matches to play in between.”
Arsene Wenger on the other hand was devastated and he accepted “full responsibility for the defeat.
“This defeat is my fault, I take full responsibility for it. I don’t think there’s too much need to talk about the mistakes we made. We got a good hiding today. It’s how we respond now on Tuesday night against Swansea and the best way is not to explain too much the mistakes.Yes, of course it’s one of the worst days in my career. It’s over after 20 minutes and it’s a long game after that. You don’t prepare all week to experience that kind of experience.”
 
He also talked on the controversial handball incident that saw Kieran Gibbs mistakenly sent off and a penalty awarded to the Blues.
 
“I believe it was handball but the referee hasn’t seen it. The ball went out and I think it’s Chamberlain who touched the ball. I don’t know who gave indication to the referee that it was handball but he has certainly not seen it. Of course it’s a huge disappointment today but we want to win the next game now.”

UCL clash: Arjen Robben hits back at Arsene Wenger

The barrage of insults unleashed on Arsene Wenger these days though! Very soon we might start drawing up the list of players and Managers who have slammed the French boss. Bayern’s Arjen Robben has angrily lashed out at the Arsenal coach after the latter tagged him a “good diver” in the wake of the German’s club victory over the Gunners last night.

The 63 year-old Manager who faulted his penalty was quoted thus after last night match, “He is a very good diver, but that is the way it goes. It is the referee – Robben is a fantastic player, but he doesn’t need to do it. He gets in front of the player, he goes down. We spoke about this yesterday. If the referee gives him a yellow card he will not do it again.”

The Holland international hit back at him, “I always say if you are a big manager then take your loss. If you win be happy, enjoy, but if you lose don’t complain about silly things. It was two legitimate penalties but I don’t want to defend myself. From a big manager you expect a little bit more.”
