Lehmann says Cech has to get over his love for Chelsea.
Ex goalkeeper, Jens Lehmann has advised newly signed Arsenal skipper, Petr Cech to get over his love for his former club, Chelsea and focus on the task ahead of him.
The Czech international completed a move from Chelsea to Arsenal a week ago for £10m. The Arsenal legend has claimed it could take a while for the 33 year-old to settle at the Emirates Stadium.
“It’s not easy to suddenly go from Chelsea, where he has spent almost his whole career winning many trophies, to the other side of the capital with a rival. Before you can have it in your heart to win titles again, you have to get rid of the love you had before.
“At Chelsea, for Petr, it was his passion and he showed great commitment. But, as a professional, he needs to get over it and needs to know Arsenal want him to win things again for them. Yet, let me tell you, that is not an easy thing to get over psychologically. It can take a few weeks, even a few months.” He told The Sun.
Arsenal players, Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba others react to Petr Cech's £11m move from Chelsea.
The highest-paid goalkeeper in the history of Arsenal Football club, Petr Cech got a rousing welcome from his new teammates on social media yesterday. The Chelsea legend’s 4-year deal with the Gunners costs £11 million.

"Things changed and I was no longer the first-choice keeper." Petr Cech writes goodbye note to Chelsea fans.
Newly signed Arsenal goalkeeper, Petr Cech has thanked fans of his former club, Chelsea FC for their amazing support through his 11 credible years. Warming the bench for a major part of last season was one of the things that propelled him to leave the club and now he gets a regular playing time.
The Czech international, who won 13 major trophies with The Blues ended with 228 clean sheets from his 494 games has signed a four-year deal worth a basic £100,000 per week with Arsenal FC.
“I thought this would never happen. I but it is time for me to say goodbye to Chelsea Football Club: the club I have lived every single minute for since joining in July, 2014, the club in which I thought I’d hang my gloves and boots one day and finish my career. But life doesn’t always turn out the way you think it will.
“It has been an incredible journey with so many highs and not many lows. We have managed to win every single English trophy as well as the Europa League and the biggest of all – the Champions League. Looking back at all the achievements, including our first ever league double in 2010, back to back titles in 2005 and 2006, and multiple Premier League and FA Cup wins, I couldn’t be more proud. As a team, we made history together.
He revealed that “Last summer, things changed and I understood I was no longer the first-choice keeper, but I felt it was not the right time for me to go. During the season it became clear that my situation would not improve and, as I know I am not at the stage of my career where I want to be on the bench, I made my decision to move on and look for new challenges.”
“The limited playing time gave me the chance to refresh and rest mentally as well as made me realise just how much I enjoy playing football at the highest level, because I missed it badly every game day I was not involved. I have the same commitment to football, the same motivation and the same hunger for success as I had at the beginning of my career.
I love the challenges brought by the top quality players you face while playing in the Premier League: simply the best and the most challenging league in the world. That’s why I spoke to Mr Abramovich about me staying in the Premier League, and I’d like to thank him from the bottom of my heart for his support in this matter.” The 33 year-old wrote.
