Super Falcons' Asisat Oshoala shortlisted for BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year award

Super Falcons striker, Asisat Oshoala, has been shortlisted for the maiden edition of the BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year. The Liverpool forward was nominated alongside Spain’s Verónica Boquete, Germany’s Nadine Kessler, Kim Little of Scotland and Marta of Brazil.

“The five shortlisted players represent an incredible array of talent and show the growing strength of the women’s game. The vote is now open to fans to choose their favourite player.” Controller of BBC World Service English, Mary Hockaday said.
Voting for the best player has commenced and it is expected to close on May 11. The eventual winner will be announced on May 26.
