Niger Republic striker, Zakary Adebayor has rubbished claims that he’s a Nigerian. Prior to this, there were reports that his grandparents were of Nigeria descent but later moved to Niger in the 70s. Speaking to reporters yesterday, the footballer said

“I am from Niger Republic and people should stop this controversy of linking me with Nigeria. Fine, I know Adebayor is a Nigerian name but I am from Niger Republic and I am happy to play for Mena.” He revealed.
