The Paramount King of Fuji Music, Abass Akande Obesere and Afro hip hop star, W4, stunned and surprised the 2012 Next Movie Star housemates when they visited the NMS House as special guests at the first Thank God It's Friday night. This is a night usually reserved for the housemates to unwind and let their hairs down in an atmosphere of unbridled fun and revelry. And over the years, the producers have ensured they invite rave musicians to party with the housemates during the TGIF. Dressed in a well-cut blazer atop a checkered shirt and black pant, the Fuji music star was ushered into the warm embrace of the housemates who shrieked and screamed on sighting him. The reception was no less overwhelming for W4 whose real name is Adewale Adepoju. Settling down to chit-chat with the excited and enthralled housemates, Obesere said, "I have followed the success story of the Next Movie Star since inception and I am proud at how far it has come. Some of you may not know but I am also an actor and when I see young people wanting to go into the profession, I advise them to endeavour to get the requisite training and education. I'm happy that these are what the producers of the NMS are offering young Nigerians. Please, grab all that you can from them and know that only one person can win the ultimate prize. Your own victory is in what you leave here with in terms of the training and experience, which would set you apart when you enter into the (entertainment) industry fully." On his part, W4, who has been enjoying increasing mainstream acceptance since the release of his hit single, Kontrol, also advised the housemates to remain focused because the entertainment industry is not for the indolent. "It's a tough world out there but you are lucky because you would be coming in with a lot of skills and experience which your being in the Next Movie Star offers you. Make use of the opportunity and take 'Kontrol'."Thereafter, Obesere removed his blazer and dug into his rich repertoire, belting out melodious and dance-worthy Fuji songs, songs that have earmarked for him a prime place in the Hall of Fame of Nigeria's music icons. Even without instrumentals, the housemates who did not understand the Yoruba language could not help but dance unabashedly to the former lewd lyricist's music. W4 did not allow the more experienced Obesere to outshine him as he also did two songs from his burgeoning repertory. On behalf of the housemates, Ojikemba Jude, thanked the guest artistes for their presence, commending Obesere especially for how he has been able to struggle through a deprived childhood to be a successful music star.
