PHOTOS: FELA'S HOME TURNED INTO KALAKUTA REPUBLIC MUSEUM

This is a bit belated but it could still pass for fresh news. Right?
To mark his 74th post-humous birthday, children or family of the late Afrobeat Legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti’s has turned his home to a beautiful museum.
The yet-to-be completed musuem was inaugurated in Lagos on October 15, which turned out to be the late icon’s birthday date, according to one of his sons, Femi Kuti, it symbolises his birthday and struggles.
 
Renamed Kalakuta Republic Museum and located on Gbemisola Street, Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos, the museum bears Fela’s items like dresses, saxophone, shoes; his bedroom, sitting rooms, , photographs with over 3,000 of Fela’s clothes are on display as well as the last bedsheet he used before he died in 1997.
Many other things according to the curator of the museum, Lemmy Gariokwu will still be fixed.
