My appointment as Eagles captain a mixup – Ahmed Musa

CSKA Moscow winger, Ahmed Musa has described his appointment as Super Eagles captain by former coach Sunday Oliseh as a mixup. He added that the armband should have been handed to Mikel Obi who happens to be the team’s longest serving player.
Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Samson Siasia today named the Chelsea midfielder as the captain of the team after informing both players about his decision on Wednesday night. Musa will now be his assistant.
“Mikel is the oldest serving player in the team and it is the right thing for him to have the armband. This is just to correct what was done in the past.

“The most important thing for us right now is to concentrate on the two games in front of us and make sure that we beat Egypt and qualify for the African Nations Cup.” Musa said.
“I thank coach Siasia for giving me the chance to lead the team. I know exactly what he demands and I promise not to let him down.” 28 year-old Mikel vowed. Meanwhile he will be presented with a special Nigeria Pitch Award on Friday, for the highest number of caps in the Super Eagles’ camp.
