MIKEL OBI APOLOGISES TO NIGERIANS

Following the woeful performance of the Super Eagles against Guinea on October 8 in Abuja and the consequent elimination of Nigeria from the 2012 Africa Nations Cup billed for Gabon and Equatorial Guinea, John Mikel Obi promises that the young players and the great team that Samson Siasia is putting into shape will restore the nation's lost glory.

The Chelsea midfielder who described Samson Siasia as a 'fantastic coach' has pleaded with Nigerians to forgive and forget.

"I carefully picked out this time to apologise to Nigerians as I know their anger must have come down, it's sad that we won't be hoisting our flag at the AFCON (2012) and the fans have every right to be angry. But please, it's not the end of the world. We have a young and great team, and of course a fantastic coach. We can still live up to expectations if only we can get another chance."

"Let us put the disappointment behind us, and I promise you on behalf of my teammates that we 'll bring the glory back to Nigeria soonest. God bless us all,"He concluded
