Some bad news for the Argentine star. Lionel Messi who was accused of evading tax for 3 years (2007, 2008 and 2009) and refusing to pay €4.1m (£3m) will have to stand trial for tax evasion after his appeal was rejected by a Barcelona judge.
According to reports, his father Jorge Messi who is in charge of the World best footballer’s businesses and deals revealed that his son had no knowledge of their operations because he was too young to handle them.
The judge decreed that the Barcelona player will testify in person in court before they decide if he knew about the illegal operations. If he’s found guilty, I’m afraid he could be cooling his feet in prison for years.
