Something good, fresh and new is about to happen to Nollywood! Organizers of the Yoruba Movie Academy Awards have revealed plans to stage a much bigger film festival in the city of Lagos.
Tagged "The Yoruba film festival", the event which will be holding for the first time aims to project the culture and tourism potential of Lagos through the tremendous development of the Yoruba film industry.
It hopes to assemble Yoruba film practitioners as well as key industry stakeholders and more importantly attract government and investors to the economic realities and the job creation opportunities that the Yoruba film industry offers.
Headlined by Tunde Oshinibosi popularly called Laface, the brain behind Yoruba Movie Academy Awards, the festival whose theme also aligns with women empowerment would also provide a forum where the industry's major problems would be discussed and solutions to them would be suggested or proferred.
Just like other film festivals across the world, there would also be screenings, panels, business sessions, workshops and seminars, concert and gala night to mention a few.
