Former Super Eagles Captain and founder, Kanu Heart Foundation, Kanu Nwankwo over the weekend had his second (corrective) heart surgery at the Cleveland Hospital, Ohio, USA; the same hospital that handled the first surgery in 1997. Thankfully, the operation was successful and Papilo as he’s fondly called is recuperating fast.

“He’ll be back home in a few days time. I spoke with him Sunday afternoon and he confirmed he’s in a stable condition.” Onyebuchi Abia, Kanu Heart Foundation Co-ordinator said in a statement.

The Nigerian football legend who was among the recipients of the Nigeria Centenary awards tweeted a picture of his award today. “I thank God. Thanks for all your support and keep supporting.” He added.
