Uruguay forward, Luis Suarez has expressed his shock at being excluded from the 2014 Ballon d’Or nominees list.

And really the reason isn’t far-fetched, his 4-month ban for the infamous World Cup bite is the chief, if not the only reason why his name didn’t make FIFA’s 23-men shortlist.

Here’s his reaction to the news. “Everyone brings it to attention. As my Barca team-mate Gerard Pique said, they voted me as the best player in the most difficult league in the world, or one of the most difficult. I was also the highest goalscorer of all of the European leagues. It’s strange that I’m not on the list, but I prefer to keep quiet before saying things because every time that I speak there could be a problem.”
