George Weah elected Liberia's 25th President

Former AC Milan talisman,George Weah has been elected as President-elect of Liberia, West Africa Liberia’s 25th President.  The 51-year-old replaces Africa’s first female head of state, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. Weah won thirteen out of fifteen counties while his 73-year-old opponent and current vice president, Joseph Boakai got only two counties.

Weah who is the only African to win the Ballon d’Or award was the 1995 World Footballer of the Year, European Footballer of the Year and African Footballer of the Year
“I am deeply grateful to my family, my friends, and my loyal supporters who contributed to our campaign during this extremely long election season,” Weah said on Twitter.
He laced his boots for Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan, Chelsea and Manchester City and Marseille.
