Are you a talented makeup artist, stylist, TV presenter or member of a production team? Here’s an opportunity to hone your skills and develop your career. You will not only benefit from the immense publicity this show provides but you can also leverage on the international platform to showcase your skills to a large audience. WED Magazine, organizers of the ‘My Big Nigerian Wedding’ contest is calling on talented and interested vendors to be a part of the production team for the Reality TV Series of the show. Next year, a 13-episode series of the My Big Nigerian Wedding contest will air on major channels across Africa and on online channels where the fun and exciting journey of the shortlisted couples would be shown to millions of viewers across the world.
 
 
 
CRITERIA
 
 
 
Interested participants must reside in Lagos and should have a portfolio of their work that can be seen by the MBNWedding Team.
*For the stylists and makeup artists, pictures of their works would be submitted while TV Presenters would need to upload video clips of their hosting gigs on YouTube.
*TV Presenters should have a fun and vivacious personality while the makeup artists and stylists should be really good at what they do.
*The Production team requires people who are interested in training on various aspects of video production such as camera, light and editing. They should have a basic knowledge of video production and be eager to learn more.

Organizers of the My Big Nigerian Wedding Contest have unveiled the 10 couples who are vying for the grand prize(s) in the contest. The next agenda is to keep them in the competition. To increase couples’ chances of getting to the next stage, WED Magazine is glad to announce the commencement of the ‘Social Media Voting’ stage. Every contestant has an equal chance to get to the next stage on our various social media platforms – Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Entries for the ‘My Big Nigerian Wedding’ contest have started pouring in in droves, now it’s time to begin the journey to choosing the ultimate winner. Voting according to WED Magazine, organizers of the maiden edition of the contest starts today October 2nd 2013 and ends on December 2nd 2013.
Couples who have registered for the contest stand the chance of having their dream wedding sponsored to the tune of N15Million and win an exotic honeymoon if they garner enough votes to get them to the final stage of the competition and clinch the overall prize. To vote for any couple of your choice, please visit www.mbnwedding.com and register with your email and mobile phone number. Your log in details can be used anytime you visit the MBNWedding site. You cannot register twice with the same email address and mobile phone number.The site permits you to vote only once for a couple within the space of 24 hours. To vote again for the same couple, you have to visit in the next 24 hours. However, you can vote for other couples of your choice within the same period.
 
To arrive at the first shortlist of 50 couples, 40 couples would be chosen through voting while 10 would be chosen by a select panel of judges who would pick the couples based on their stories and other criteria. These 40 couples would be a compilation of the top 25 votes from the website, 5 from Facebook, 5 from Twitter and 5 from Instagram. Akin Eso, publisher of WED Magazine notes that the voting process is an open and transparent one which gives all couples a fair chance of being shortlisted. “We have put in place the best technology and processes to ensure the voting process is as transparent as possible. We want every couple to get a fair chance of winning the competition. It is now left to the contestants to get their friends and family to vote for them.”
 
Speaking on the idea behind the contest, he said that beyond planning a spectacular wedding for the winning couple, WED Magazine has some important values which they stand for.

Headlined by Akin Osho, (publisher of WED magazine), the 3-day event which was held at Hallmark Events Centre, Oniru-Lagos, served as a melting-pot of businesses associated with weddings or simply put, exhibitors to showcase their brands to clients/guests.

The first daughter of the Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church (Winners’ Chapel) Love Oyedepo got married to Steven Ogah, a Covenant University graduate and her father’s personal assistant.

The wedding took place at Canaanland yesterday March 23rd, 2012. Sorry we got so engrossed with 2face’s shindig that we didn’t pay attention to this.
