Guardiola lacks common decency in his treatment of Joe Hart -Joey Barton:

Rangers midfielder, Joey Barton is far from impressed with
Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola over his treatment of Manchester City
goalkeeper Joe Hart. Hart wasn’t included in the starting line-up for Pep’s
first matches in charge amidst claims he will soon be replaced with Barcelona
goalkeeper, Claudio Bravo.
The former City
player considers Pep’s actions towards the player who has spent 10 years at the
club disgusting.
He told talkSPORT.
“It
is not the club I left. The club I left and watch now are two totally different
organisations.
The club I
played for wouldn’t have treated a player that had been a servant for as long
as Joe has in the manner that it has.
It is common human decency, regardless of how good a
coach you are. Why treat him like that?
He continued, “He is a full international, somebody
who, probably before City took the money, could have gone on to bigger and
better things himself but stayed and wanted to be at City.
I don’t see what he has done wrong to be
treated the way he has. His attitude isn’t terrible. I don’t like this.
I’ve watched Caballero and are you
telling me Caballero is better with his feet than Joe Hart? I haven’t seen it.
Why not let him fight for his place and
then if he is not good enough say: ‘I have given him an opportunity’. That’s
what every manager should do, give everyone an opportunity.”

Giwa FC are back in the NPFL

Three months after it was expelled from the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) for failing to honour three matches and in accordance with the competition’s rules following their banishment to Ilorin over violence in their home game against Enugu Rangers leading to the abandonment of the match. Giwa FC have been asked to return to the NPFL. They were reinstated following an interim order from the Plateau State High Court.
The League Management Company have stated that “processes to reschedule matches concerning (the) Jos side (are) now being activated as directed by (the) Plateau State Court.”

Liverpool portrayed me as a traitor – Torres

Atletico Madrid star, Fernando Torres has claimed he was portrayed as a traitor by former club, Liverpool FC following his £50m move from Liverpool to Chelsea in 2011.

The Spanish international opned the lid in a new book by Simon Hughes entitled “Ring of Fire: Liverpool FC into the 21st Century – the players’ stories”. He was shocked had asked if he was going to be sold but the club’s managing director, Christian Purslow assured that players would remain at the club for Liverpool’s value to remain high ahead of a possible takeover.
“Comolli told me that the new owners (FSG), they had an idea of how to spend their investment, They wanted to bring in young players, to build something new. I was thinking to myself, this takes time to work. It takes two, three, four, maybe even 10 years.
“I didn’t have that time. I was 27 years old. I did not have time to wait. I wanted to win. Here we are five years later and they are still trying to build – around the same position in the league as when I left.”
“It was presented as if I was a traitor. “It was not like this in the discussion(s).
“Liverpool could not admit they were doing something wrong with the whole team. They had to find a guilty one.”

Photos : Asisat Oshoala pays courtesy visit to the first lady of Lagos State, donates to football academies.

There are two different stories in One page.
The first.
The 2015 African Women’s Footballer of the Year, Asisat Oshoala paid a courtesy visit to the first lady of Lagos State, Mrs Bolanle Ambode this week.
She was well received by the Governor’s wife and her team.
Secondly, the Arsenal Ladies striker donated more than 50 Arsenal jerseys, balls and boots to five football academies in Lagos State.
This is where I grew up and I know what they need and know exactly what they lack and even if I am anywhere, I always have them in my heart and with the little I have, I will also remember them. I feel these kids are happy and it with serve as an inspiration to them to do more when they move up in their professional career.” Oshoala stated.

Messi announces return to Argentina national team

Two months after quitting Argentina’s national team following their loss in this summer’s Copa America final, Lionel Messi has announced his return to the squad. The 29-year-old has been included in the Albiceleste‘s 18-man squad to face Uruguay and Venezuela in the World Cup qualifiers coming up in September. He rescinded his decision after he met the team’s new coach this week.

In a statement he released on Friday, the Barcelona playmaker said, “I see that there are a lot of problems in Argentina football and I don’t want to create more. I don’t want to cause harm, on the contrary, my goal was to help in any way I could.”

“There are many things that need to be fixed in Argentine football. But I prefer to help from inside rather than stand on the outside and Criticize. A lot of things ran through my head on the day of the [Copa America] final. And I seriously considered leaving the team. But I love my shirt and my country too much.

“I want to thank all the fans who wanted me to keep playing for Argentina. I hope we can give them joy very soon.” Messi, who is Argentina’s all-time leading scorer with 55 goals in 113 said.

Rio Ferdinand dismisses Paul Pogba-Roy Keane conparison

Albeit he admitted one of Manchester United’s new signings, Paul Pogba was worth the record fee, former Red Devil centre-back, Rio Ferdinand would have none of the comparison between the former Juventusand one of the club’s greats, Roy Keane.  Brushing aside claims that Pogba will step into Keane’s shoes, the 37 year-old said, ‘Pogba is not the new Keano, far from
it. Pogba is a very different kind of personality when you compare him to Roy,
but we can all see the talent he has got and that is why United are trying to
get him back now.
Roy was a driving force for our team,
he was in your face and he demanded high standards of everyone around him.
That’s what made him such a great winner and a true champion for United. There
will never be another Roy Keane. He was a one-off for a variety of reasons.

Pogba is not like that. I was at
United when Pogba was there first time around and he is a kid who will need to
be handled correctly.
He is a bit of an extrovert off the
field and doesn’t always do things in a conventional fashion, but there is
nothing wrong with that if he is producing the goods on the pitch. It doesn’t
matter what anyone says about the fee that Juventus are getting for Paul Pogba
because that is the going rate and the money Man Utd bring in from a variety of
sources means they can justify this kind of transfer.

You are investing in massive
potential. This guy could be the best midfielder in world football for the next
ten years and if he spends those years at United, then it would be a good
investment.
