Neymar agrees £450m transfer from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain

Neymar is leaving Barcelona next season and the MSN era has ended.

The Brazilian footballer has reportedly put pen to paper a five-year £450m deal with french outfit, Paris Saint Germaine (PSG) which would see him net £515,000 a week after tax. The striker has gone into the world record books and history as the highest transfer paid for a footballer. He is expected to arrive Paris by Friday to complete his move.

While many believe the move was right as he will step out of Lionel Messi’s shadow, others opined that it was unwise of him to have chosen money over Barcelona.

Kelechi Iheanacho moves to Leicester City in £25m deal

Nigerian footballer, Iheanacho Kelechi has sealed a move to Leicester City from Manchester City in a deal valued at £25m.
The club has also insisted on a £50 million buy-back option for the striker
Iheanacho, who had a medical at Leicester’s training ground on Tuesday is expected to be officially unveiled in the next 24 hours. The 20 year-old could make his Leicester debut in Friday’s friendly against Borussia Monchengladbach at the King Power Stadium.

As revealed by Telegraph Sport last month, Leicester agreed a fee and terms nearly four weeks ago for the Nigeria international and have had to be patient while the impasse with his agents was resolved.

" I have never concealed anything" – Cristiano Ronaldo releases statement after appearing in court.

Portuguese superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, appeared in a Spanish court today, to testify in his €14.7m tax evasion case. The 32-year-old was accused of taking “advantage of a company structure created in 2010 to hide income generated in Spain from his image rights from tax authorities.”, a crime deemed “voluntary and conscious breach of his fiscal obligations in Spain”. If found guilty, the former Manchester United forward could face a fine of “at least €28m” and a prison sentence of three-and-a-half years.

The Real Madrid forward who boycotted the press after the hearing released a statement, denying all wrongdoing. Read below:

“The Spanish Treasury knows in detail all my income, because we gave it to them, I have never concealed anything, nor did I intend to evade taxes. I always do my tax returns voluntarily, because I think we all have to declare and pay taxes according to our income. Those who know me, know what I ask my advisors: to have everything up to date and properly paid, because I do not want problems.

“It is time to let justice work, I believe in justice. In order to avoid unnecessary pressure or to contribute to a parallel trial, I have decided that I will not make any further statements on this subject until such a decision is made.”

Manchester United confirm Matic signing

Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Nemanja Matic on a three-year deal

Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic in a three-year deal valued at £40million. The 28-year-old who will earn £140,000 a week will wear the No 31 at United.

Speaking on the Serbian international’s move, Jose Mourinho said: “Nemanja is a Manchester United player and a Jose Mourinho player. He represents everything we want in a footballer; loyalty, consistency, ambition, team player. I would like to thank him for his desire to join us because without that, it would be impossible to have him here. I am sure our players and supporters will love him. A big welcome to our new number 31.”

Joe Hart joins West Ham from Manchester City.

Joe Hart has joined West Ham on loan from Man City in £4.5m deal.

The England goalkeeper was on loan at Torino in Serie A last season after being frozen from Pep Guardiola’s squad.

Speaking about his new destination, the 30 year-old goalkeeper told West Ham TV, “It’s important for me to play football and to get the opportunity to come here and play is absolutely awesome. To be playing in the Premier League for a big club like West Ham, I’m really looking forward to the season. I’ve always loved the club. I think you’ll struggle to find anyone, apart from the direct opposing fans around London, who doesn’t love the club. It’s got something about it, it’s got a lot history and I’ve always loved playing against West Ham.”

Spanish FA President & son arrested on corruption charges.

Spanish FA president, Ángel María Villar Llona, his son and three others have been arrested on corruption charges as part of an investigation into the finances of the federations.

Villar Llona, who is also a senior vice-president at FIFA and UEFA, were detained while the federation headquarters in Madrid were raided.
Speaking after the arrest, Spain’s sport minister, Inigo Mendez de Vigo, said “In Spain the laws are enforced, the laws are the same for all, and nobody, nobody is above the law.”

UEFA said in a statement it is aware of the reports regarding Mr. Villar Llona and they have “no comment to make at this time.”

Dani Alves snubs Man City for PSG


Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have confirmed the signing of Brazilian right-back Dani Alves. The Brazilian whose spell at Juventus ended last season turned down a chance to reunite with his former boss, Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
The 34 year-old rejected City’s £115,000 a week contract to sign PSG’s £240,000 a week offer, a move that left few fans disappointed .


 

And he addressed their grievances in a PSG press conference: “”There’s a very interesting project in Paris,” he said. “I have friends here, I’m a man who loves challenges.  If Pep and Man City feel hurt, I’m sorry. I have come here to be a champion. I‘ve had the pleasure of winning the Champions League three times and I want to bring my experience here. “The President had a great power of persuasion. I like to make history. We can write it together here. The work that the club has been doing over the past several years is very encouraging. It’s an ambitious team.”

Manchester United confirm Romelu Lukaku deal


Manchester United have confirmed a £90million deal with Everton player, Romelu Lukaku.  Everton will receive £75million first, with £15m due in potential add-ons based on the player’s performances at Old Trafford.
The club made the announcement on its official Twitter page today saying, “‘MUFC is delighted to announce a fee has been agreed with Everton for the transfer of Romelu Lukaku, subject to a medical & personal terms.’ 


The striker who is currently in LA is expected to undergo a medical before United’s pre-season tour. Meanwhile Paul Pogba posted a video on instagram, welcoming his new mate.
