Nigerian musician Femi Kuti has just smashed a saxophone world record set by American saxophonist, Kenneth Bruce Gorelick better known as Kenny G in 1997. He achieved the feat at the New Africa Shrine on the 7th of May, 2017. While Kenny G held an E-flat for 45 minutes via circulation breathing, Femi Kuti‘s longest single note on a saxophone for 46mins and 38secs.
The record for the longest single note ever was set in February 2000 by Vann Burchfield, after he held a note for a time of 47 minutes and 6 seconds. We are certain Femi would also surpass that soonest.
Congrats to the achiever!

“I MET THE KING: About 2am this morning, I was waiting to fall asleep. That’s how I saw King Sunny Ade on Darey’s instagram Live. We had been billed to perform in the same show. I lost it a little bit and jumped out the now useless bed. Quickly, I got dressed and rushed out of my room to meet baba. As per normal dubs, I prostrated flat in front of him, and waited till he said “Adekunle Gold omo mi, dide”. HE KNOWSSSS MEEE BY NAMEEEE ????. That’s when I started yarning, rambling and everything, with my heart palpitating, about how he’s one of my biggest influences and how his stage performances help me a lot etc. In the middle of our gist, baba started singing “My Life”. OMG. Homie was about to pass out. ?????. I sharply grabbed my phone and asked him to sing it again. He did. To cut the pretty long story short, I lost it (again). Baba prayed for me and gave me golden advice. The one that hit home the hardest was, “Never Copy anyone. Stay true to yourself like you’ve been doing.” “I should fire someone, because I told them I wanted to watch your performance”. KING said. Dreams come true, you see.” He wrote on Instagram.

MYOA (which means “God brings joy”) is a Singer/Songwriter whose musical journey has catapulted her from the beautiful coast of West Africa to the Queen’s land in England UK, and finally to the immensely diverse and invigorating music scene of the USA.
The eldest of three, Myoa began singing in school choirs, competitions and concerts, penning her first song at the age of 9. Her deep-seeded desire for a music career continued, but she opted for a traditional career path and headed off to pursue a college degree.
Studying at the University of Plymouth, she honed her songwriting and keyboard skills but upon graduation Myoa pursued a career in Finance for a while. Feeling there was more to life, Myoa opted for another path. Resigning from her job, she packed her bags and decided to explore opportunities to study music in Los Angeles, USA.
She enrolled at Hollywood California’s heralded Musicians Institute, learning the art of vocal performance & music production and landing a highly coveted internship at one of the world’s largest music companies, Universal Music Group. Often compared to the likes of Basia and Des’ree; Myoa sees greater benefit in creating her own lane in the music business.
Her debut album ‘Beautiful Journey’ which was produced by Nigerian musical genius Cobhams Asuquo and co-written by Myoa Sobamowo, validates her hard work as an independent artist.
Currently residing in Houston, Texas and quickly amassing a local following, Myoa performs live with her band at trendy intimate venues, and will be performing at a private event hosted by PEPSI for the Super Bowl event that will be held in Houston Texas. The Super Bowl is the annual championship game of the NFL; the highest level of professional American football in the world, is also known for its entertainment performances.

Falz and Simi won’t be getting married – at least not yet
The wave making singers who have been taunting fans with engagement-like photos have revealed their joint project; a 7-track EP titled, ‘Chemistry’.
One may never know when these ones tie the knot.
Don’t these look like pre-wedding / engagement images?
New pictures suggesting that a wedding is in the offing for the ‘soldier’ stars have been floating on social media for the past few days.
But since both musicians, Falz and Simi have vehemently denied being romantically linked, let’s take their word for it. A wedding or a collaboration album?
Only a matter of time.
